Closed a while ago...

 

Had plans to try Django Western Taco today until I found out late last night they are closed on Sunday's. Was trying to find something close on short notice we settled on Price Hill Chili.

Hit Terry's Turf Club last night. Burger w/melted brie, bacon,and burgundy wine and wild mushroom sauce. Delicious.

Ate at a new place called Dominics today.

Horrible location in the Country Heart right below Brossart High School. Can't be seen from 27 and is currently way too small. Looks like they are expanding but still sharing only a small part of the Country Heart crap store (they sell crafty type women stuff in there).

 

That being said, Reuben sandwhich was a monster. Very tasty and pannini style. I ordered a large and it was way too much for me. My date had a chicken caesar salad. Once again a huge portion of food and it passed the taste test for the bride. I had a tea, she had water. $20.50 pre tip. I've heard good things about dinner options and look forward to trying them out. No liquor license at this time. It would be nice to have a glass/bottle of wine with the mainly Italian dinner menu.

Hit Big Bone BBQ in Union the other night. Solid. Brisket was good, sauces were good, and the collard greens and baked beans were solid. Not awesome, but good. We'll be back.

If you're looking for a good Reuben, I recommend SteinHaus in Florence. A bit pricy but very good.

Our "go to" spot for dining out. I've always had great food at Mai Thai. (Lately I've been getting the Spicy Eggplant with Tofu spicy level 3.) Pay with cash and its 10% off.

I've eaten at Mai Thai several times -- it's very good. Unfortunately, the space is very limited (and the crowd tends to be large) so I have walked in, only to walk over to Shakey's, more times than I've actually eaten at Mai Thai. I think they open for lunch at 11:30. If you want to go for lunch, I recommend you get there around 11:45, or wait until after "lunch".

Best time to go to Eli's is when the weather is crap. We went two Saturday's ago at 5:30 on a Saturday. Walked right in the door, ordered, and had our food in 10 minutes. If you try that on a nice saturday in September, 45 mins to order another 30 mins to get your food. I love to go when it is cold and rainy.
