After further research and just listening to the people that cover the program. My top choices would be Sonny Dykes, Kliff Kingsbury, and Neal Brown... My hope is with Dykes not being able to bring Tony Franklin, he brings in Neal Brown.

Head coach is not just the issue, UK needs to pay to bring in a big OC or heavy recruiter. Go big or go home.

My top choice would be Dirk Koetter (the OC of the Falcons). Understands the college game. Coached the offenses at several colleges. Was the HC at Arizona State and Boise State. Has coached in the NFL. Can walk into the living rooms of recruits and tell them he knows what it takes to make it to the NFL and can help them get there (ala Calipari). Has ties out West (we have to be able to recruit in areas other than the South where we will be second fiddle to the powerhouses for a long time even if we start contending for SEC championships). Should be able to tap into those California and Texas high schoolers and lure them with the opportunity to play in the SEC. Likes to throw the ball vertically. Perhaps. But his name is supposedly on some list of coaches UK is interested in and I'd love to see it happen.

 

For the record, I'm not one of the folks that thinks the UK job is so undesirable that no really good coach would be interested in it. Coaches have egos; some really big egos. Put the bucks on the table; commit to making improvements, and you never know who might be interested. I wouldn't want any coach anyway that was afraid of the task ahead of him.

Those people either bought tickets and didn't show up or didn't buy tickets and then didn't show up. Either way UK football a shambled mess and Joker needed to go. Vandy game was icing on the cake.

I keep reading this over and over, but why is that? Why is this acceptable? Why can't UK have successful football? I know they suck and have sucked for quite a while but why? In the Furball's own words, "why, why, why!"
