I've heard that if Fulmer is offered the job he would try to bring Zook with him as a coordinator and recruiting coordinator. I doubt it even gets to this, but I read that Fulmer hasn't turned the idea down and that he would like to coach a few more years to try to pass Neylen in career wins. Fulmer would be the one trying to bring Ron Zook with him, not the UK admin.

 

I think Cutcliffe is in good position to get the job if they don't bring Joker back. I like Tubberville, Dykes, and Fulmer as candidates as well, either would be interesting. I'm sure they all want a crack at the SEC (something they're not getting now) and they all want it for different reasons. If UT goes after Cutcliffe I think Kentucky is fine with one of the other three, perhaps better. Cutcliffe is just the most likely IMO because of his relationships and not as much his resume.

I think Mitch will make a change, he has to. Not because of wins and loses, attendance drop or crowing fans. UL has forced this change. UL is on the verge of becoming a force in college football, they've (UL) put theirselves in great position to make a move in the next round of conference realignments. After they move to the big 12 and still preform well it will be devastating for UK if they can't compete.

I don't see Strong leaving Louisville but if he were to leave for the SEC, I would think Arkansas, Auburn, and Tennessee would all be better choices for him than Kentucky.

If Dykes were offered he would have to get a different OC. KY is not going to let him bring Tony Franklin which is a shame for Franklin. Cutliff is taking the Spurrier path back to the SEC but KY becomes average at best with him. The guy at Clemson is interesting but I don't think they could get him. Noel Mazzone would be interesting as an OC or maybe a HC. Taggert would be interesting also

1. Joker will not be back. Attendance is a HUGE problem, and that does not sit well with Mitch Barnhart.

 

2. Why would UK want another lame duck coach from another SEC school. UK cannot whiff on this coaching move.

 

Mitch needs to hit a home run with this next hire. Like a Jay Gruden, Butch Jones, or coordinator from a successful program.

 

PLEASE no Houston Nutt's, Phil Fulmer, Tommy Tubberville, or Leach. UK needs an innovator!

I'd hire Petrino in a heartbeat, compete for 4 years, then serve my probation. Dude would get it turned around immediately. I'd rather see probation after competing for BCS bowls than what we're seeing now.
