October 12, 201213 yr I agree with Habib that for better or worse this debate was about Biden. Someone had a great quote last night. If you went strictly by the transcripts, it was a draw; if you just heard the debate Biden won; if you just watched the debate, Ryan won. Biden was amped for the first 50 minutes of the debate. Looked like he chugged a gallon of 5 Hour Energy before the festivities. When he settled down, he came across a lot less rude and connecting.

They were initially going to extract him from the tree, then it was determined that he hadn't actually broken any laws. One guy said there were going to "let him scream his little heart out" and everyone virtually ignored him. Another officer told me that he had broken no laws with his protest and would likely avoid an arrest, depending on what he did when he finally came out of the tree. Personally, I was hoping to get some taser footage on tape but no dice. :lol:

October 12, 201213 yr Does anyone else find it amusing (and terrifying) that the VP threw the intelligence community under the bus over the Libyan attack but late said he trusted that same community to let us know when Iran will have nuclear weapons? By his "reasonong" we'll find out when someone sees a mushroom cloud over Israel.
October 12, 201213 yr I didn't watch the debate - Orioles winning and Steelers losing were on my plate last night. In my experience, when folks are perseverating on "the other guy laughing and smiling"; that generally means that their guy lost. And did Mr. Ryan actually float the idea of increasing the number of troops in Afghanistan; or was that just some nasty liberal spin? I don't know since I wasn't watching.
October 12, 201213 yr Rep Ryan didn't seem to understand the issue of troop drawdown. We want our troops out yet he was condemning the administration for getting troops out and acting as if they were not being replaced by the people who actually live in the country. Yeah, I thought Biden burned Ryan on that topic. Especially with the way that discussion ended.
