...the Highlands big TE is from Villa Hills. Highlands with another great Kenton County athlete.

 

I cant believe he went to Highlands and not Simon Kenton. Apples and Oranges....one team dreams about state titles the other one trying to get to 30!

It appears to me that the HHS fan base desire to play SK is solely to humiliate one individual. Pathetic and immature. Talk to us about playing the best when you have played Trinity in a game that COUNTS!!!!!!!

 

Trinity is on another level right now...i get it...but come on talk to you....St X in 08 and Elder in 11. 5 state titles in a row. SK should never lose to a 1 or 2a school. If they want to compete with the big boys...play somebody and beat them sometime.

Maybe that is why 1A and 2A schools schedule SK to play the best?

SK played Trinity with the worst team in the history of the program and lost 72 - 0. SK also played Trinity with the best team in the history of the program and lost 72 - 10. As a fan base, we do not take success for granted because we have been at the bottom. We do not need constant reminders that we are not Highlands or Trinity.

 

Did they keep score at your scrimmage? Because in the eyes of Trinity, there is no difference between Highlands and SK. Both get steamrolled.

 

To answer the bolded, yes, they kept score. It was played exactly like a regular season game. Calling it a scrimmage is misleading - it's more like an exhibition or NFL pre-season game.

Not really. He just borrowed time that should have been allocated to more meaningful pursuits.

As one who is close to many people associated with Trinity High School and their football program, I can assure you that is not even close to correct.

I am not whining if anything the kid should go to Dixie. I just thought it was interesting since Highlands fans think all their players are from Fort Thomas.

 

Hate to burst your bubble on this issue, BUT....there are only TWO players on HHS that are from Villa Hills, neither play TE, and both are sophomores...

To be more specific, there are two players that currently LIVE in Villa Hills. True is originally from VH, but made the move to Ft Thomas about 5 years ago. Dixie school district, not SK. Wise move.

It's not UK 1 that irks those in the know in Ft.T. It is the head coach at SK who spits the same garbage about wanting to play HHS, then claims he is losing to many seniors when he talks to Mueller. Then turns right back around and tells people associated w/ SK that HHS won't play them. He needs a 70 point beat down for letting his mouth overload what his team is able to back up. This is two scheduling cycles in a row where he pulled the same crap.

From what I have heard that was just a rumor. Now the Birds are playing them the 2nd game at home..

When you make posts like the above, you can't single out UK#1fan as being the sole reason some folks hope SK loses.

 

I was simply responding to your post that Highlands should schedule a game against Trinity "that counts" by pointing out that in my eyes the scrimmage game counts because it lets me know what team is better; which would give the same indication if the two teams played in the regular season. Nothing more and nothing less. So I don't understand the point of your response to my post.

 

And for the record, I've not ever posted or pointed out that SK is not Highlands or Trinity. Heck, I don't recall ever posting anything negative about SK. I see no need to grind SK into the ground. Personally, I'd like to see all the 6A schools do better. Heck, I'd like all N. Ky schools to do well.

 

But you have to admit, given UK#1fan's posting style, it is easy to see why others want SK to struggle. And I'm not just talking about Highlands fans either. You want to stop hearing about how Highlands is better than SK, I'd suggest you look at UK#1fan. He encourages it. Yeah, I'd like the Highlands posters to ignore him as I do.

 

And I seriously doubt that the knowledgeable Trinity fan would say there is no difference between SK and Highlands. Heck, you yourself have admitted that SK is not Highlands. If you can see it, I'm sure they can too.

 

And to answer your question, they did keep score in the scrimmage game. It was played under game conditions. There may have been a little more substitution activity but otherwise it was played just like a regular season game. And for the record, the more liberal substitution activity did not affect, in any significant way, Trinity's dominance over Highlands in the scrimmage game.

 

Now can we get back to talking about Highlands schedule next year. SK isn't on it so there is no reason for SK to be discussed.

No you are not reading the schedule wrong. As RB mentioned, there was a rumor that it was the first game and from what I know, there was a possibility it would be played in the first game. But no game is scheduled in a vacumn. Both teams have to look and see what other games can only be scheduled in certain weeks. Coaches try to balance out home and away games. So it turned out that Campbell County will be the second game and it will be played at Highlands next year.
