August 2, 201214 yr Author Poor gay employees, they sure don't care to take a paycheck from them, why don't they go to another fast food resturant and work if they don't like the company. That would be the smart thing to do.
August 2, 201214 yr Author In all fairness I have seen way more support(2-1 maybe) for Chick-Fil-A owner/president/mouthpiece than against. And plenty of people like myself who really could care less about his beliefs. His business practices are fair and he makes a damn good chicken sandwich.
August 2, 201214 yr  I wish I could be there when they call him back to the rectory and he tries to say it wasn't him and they can't prove it. Serious question though...if they do fire him and he claims it's because he is gay is it discrimination or well within their rights? It would have to be discrimination IMO. I'm sure that is what he's hoping happens.
August 2, 201214 yr Dig into the links and you'll see where they got their info. Chick-Fil-A Donated Nearly $2 Million To Anti-Gay Groups In 2010 | Equality Matters From the link: [WinShape 2010, Publicly Available IRS 990 Form via Foundation Center, accessed 6/27/12] WinShape is CFA's charitable arm. That link details the contributions and the stances of the group. I guess anyone can be accused of being anti gay. Ignore 90% of their mission when one wants to advance an agenda. As you have said, you can contribute to something without being 100% in agreement with everything they do. As has already been pointed out, we all could be labeled anti gay under this guy's parameters due to our contributions for Alabama Larry.
August 2, 201214 yr Author It would have to be discrimination IMO. I'm sure that is what he's hoping happens. My thinking as well.
August 2, 201214 yr Who is attacking Chick-Fil-A? Various media mouthpieces mostly. Of course a protest is an attack in my opinion. A peaceful attack. In most cases.

If it's because he's gay it obviously would be discrimination. Not sure of the laws in Alabama but in an At Will state they could fire him for no reason or any reason unless it's a protected class. Talking out against your employer would be a legal reason for firing a person under such laws.
August 2, 201214 yr Media outlets are attacking CFA because it's popular. No different than media outlets attacking Tebow because it was popular.
August 2, 201214 yr Various media mouthpieces mostly. Of course a protest is an attack in my opinion. A peaceful attack. In most cases. Thank you for answering my question. In my opinion "attack" has a connotation to it that I wouldn't see as there in a peaceful protest. I think that Chick-Fil-A has much more support for voicing their opinions than they do opposition.
August 2, 201214 yr I post this not to add anything to the debate. Gay CFA worker hopes they go out of business because of their stance. No big surprise. 24 yrs old. Named Andrew. Northern Alabama store. Gay. He didn't want his last name used for fear of being fired. Uh, I think they've got enough to figure it out, Andrew. Get your resume ready. Chick-fil-A Anti-Gay Controversy: Gay Employees Speak Out You work for a fast food chain that on Sunday for religious reasons, the CEO may not be in support of gay marriage -- what a shock! It is easy to take a stand now. Do it before all this comes out and I will give you some props.
August 2, 201214 yr I'm sure this opininon has already been given, but what blows my mind about this whole deal is; nowhere, at any time, did the CEO say that he hated gays (we've all heard the "hate speech" bull). All he said is he didnt agree with it. Nothing more, nothing less, correct? In a country where we are supposed to have freedom of speech and express it, there seems to be such a double standard on who can actually do that. The left wingers seem that they are able to that without any consequences from the media (as they should), but let a conservative/right winger give their view on a controversial topic and all the sudden it becomes "hate speech". FYI, I'm about as neutral as they come when it comes to political beliefs; I'm right wing to the core about some stuff and the exact opposite when it comes to other topics. A couple years ago, I was watching Fox News and we all know that Bill O'Reiley can be, for the lack of a better word, a dipstick at times, but he was talking about this huge double standard between who can say what. The example he gave? Eminem portrayed Sara Palin in a music video as basically a Two Bit you know what (her character was actually played by an adult film star; didnt know if we could use the "p" word or not on here). She was dressed very skimpy and awful friendly to the men in the video. Eminem had his entourage in the video, made up of himself and African Americans. Long story short? Nothing was said about the video, heck, it was all viewed as a "joke", something comical, etc. So, O'Reiley posed the following scenario; What if that had been a country music video and an African American woman played the part of Michelle Obama and the singer was somebody like George Strait or Travis Tritt? Well, we all know the unfair uproar that would have taken our country by storm with that. Eminem (left wing) poking fun of Sara Palin (right wing)? All fun and games. Travis Tritt/George Strait (right wing), poking fun of Michelle Obama (left wing)? Hate speech. Granted, the Dixie Chicks fiasco doesnt exactly fit into my thinking, but I've always argued that the thing that always hurt them is making their comment in to a group of fans in Europe and not having the guts to do it over here in the states. That was the difference IMO.
August 2, 201214 yr Author Media outlets are attacking CFA because it's popular. No different than media outlets attacking Tebow because it was popular. Wrong. Tebow was attacked because he is an average NFL quarterback at best.
August 2, 201214 yr Can somebody answer this question? Where is the uproar and protesting against St. Elizabeth hospital and all Catholic hospitals? They are businesses, affiliated with the Catholic Church, who does not support Gay marriage. So then why all this uproar over what the Chik-Fil-A president says?

They are businesses, affiliated with the Catholic Church, who does not support Gay marriage. So then why all this uproar over what the Chik-Fil-A president says? My guess is, it has something to do with the fact that you don't get taken to Chick-Fil-A when you're having a heart attack...
August 2, 201214 yr Wrong. Tebow was attacked because he is an average NFL quarterback at best. Below average. But so is Sanchez, so are 20 other guys.
