Solid read.

Started Vince Flynn's newest Mitt Rapp book.

David Crockett: The Lion of the West by Michael Wallis. An accurate, un-aggrandized look at the life of David Crockett.

I just got finished with 11/22/63 by Stephen King. I really enjoyed it. My favorite King book in several years.

 

I also read Heads In Beds by Jacob Tomsky. It is a look into the behind the scenes world of the hotel business. It includes some tips and tricks that are helpful. Since I spend around 100 nights a year in hotels it was very interesting and helpful.

Currently reading The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. They are aimed at a juvenile readership so probably just right for me.

 

Picked up several more books by the same author in an auction box lot - The Screwtape Letters (already read that one a while back), Mere Christianity, The Abolition of Man, and Miracles. Will probably get to them next.

Am I accurate in saying that Tolkien hated the Narnia stuff, even though he & Lewis were friends?

 

Screwtape & Mere Christianity are my favorite works by Lewis. The Great Divorce was pretty good too.

Am I accurate in saying that Tolkien hated the Narnia stuff, even though he & Lewis were friends?

 

I think "hated" is probably a strong word, but he didn't think over highly of them. He disliked allegory and never cared for the manner in which he felt Lewis basically retold bibilical stories in his own writing. His foreward to The Lord of the Rings contains a few notes on that subject.

 

On that same subject, I just began reading Lord of the Rings for the 15th consecutive Christmas.

I just finished the latest in the Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn - "Last Man."

Baldacci's "The Forgotten".

After years of refusing I'm going to read the AROD book.

Just finished the book about AROD. It was decent and has me wanting to read Cansecos book now. I did find an interesting book at the local library today. I'm starting Legacies of Kentucky Mountain Basketball. Anyone read it?

Baldacci's True Blue. I've just become a big fan over the last few months so

going back and reading his older stuff.
