November 19, 201213 yr Author Started on "The Quincunx" by Charles Palliser. No guarantee I'll get through it, though. The Quincunx - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia In honor of The Hobbit's impending film release, I read it again yesterday. Finally finished. Ponderous in places, but I did like the level of "period detail". Not sure where to go next.
November 19, 201213 yr Author The Innocent is a stand alone. Very good read. I have recently become a Baldacci fan. But I don't care to read one that is in a series unless I have read the prior releases. Zero Day is also a great Baldacci stand alone. So much better (to me, anyway) than Grisham. Just personal preference.
November 19, 201213 yr So much better (to me, anyway) than Grisham. Just personal preference. I agree. I read Grisham's earlier novels that were later turned into movies and I enjoyed them. Now I tend to get bogged down keeping track of all the characters in the Grisham novels, so it starts to take away from the enjoyment, IMO.

IMO, he can't write his books fast enough for me. I first got hooked on Tell No One. I have since read every Harlan Coben book that he wrote after that. But honestly, I just never got into the Myron Bolitar character series. :idunno:

November 19, 201213 yr Jack Reacher preview. Saw the trailer for it when I went to see Skyfall the weekend before last. I don't expect to be impressed, but I'll probably go see it.
