Early into "Low Pressure" by Sandra Brown.

Yeah, and there's no doubt that The Things They Carried is his best; it gets all those well-deserved accolades for a reason. But if you haven't read anything else, then read one of the ones you haven't done yet. That memoir is good choice. I'm also a big fan of Going After Cacciato and The Nuclear Age. His other books I'm not as crazy about, but they're still pretty good.

 

I was talking to one of my co-workers about the fact that I was going to start reading If I Die in a Combat Zone..., and he pulled the audiobook for Krakauer's Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman out of his desk and handed it to me. Guess I'm gonna try to do them simultaneously...but we'll see if I can handle two books about war at the same time.

I'm re-reading "The Hobbit" to brush up on my Hobbit knowledge before the movie's release on December 14.

Just started reading the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Got through A Game of Thrones this past weekend, now about halfway through A Clash of Kings. If anyone were to spoil anything in these books for me I would probably start crying.

 

If you haven't finished all the books out by now, slow down. You will have plenty of time to kill between now and when the next one is finished.

Started on "The Quincunx" by Charles Palliser. No guarantee I'll get through it, though.

Just finished listening to Where Men Win Glory. Especially considering the fact that I knew the outcome, it was surprisingly difficult to listen to. At very least, it makes you question an awful lot. I'd suggest it to anyone, though.

 

I haven't had much chance in the past couple of weeks to sit down and work on If I Die In A Combat Zone..., but I'm planning to get started on it tonight.
