Reds at Nationals (8/2-8/5)

Recommended Posts

Mahle has to go to Louisville or be shut down. He has been awful his last 4 starts; 10.2 IP 20 ERs.

He hasnt really been that good all year and is not good at keeping his pitch counts down.

Shut him down with a fake injury, let him rest a little, send him to fall ball to work on some things.

Reed and Stephenson have been pitching awfully well of late. It may not be a bad idea to send Mahle down and see if he can get back on track, and give one of those guys a chance to see what they can do for a few starts. Reed pitching 8 2/3 inning last night, giving up 4 hits, one run, with one walk and 10 strikeouts. He was very pitch efficient, trowing 100 pitches, 72 of them for strikes.

Both need traded, we dont need to see anymore of either of them.

Schebler still cannot throw pain free from the reports I have read which is why he is still on the rehab assignment.

Perhaps Mahle needs to be skipped a turn or two as he looks totally lost on the mound right now.

Shut Schebler down for the year, let him heal. Season means nothing, let a AAA guy come up, show what he can do, maybe we can trade one or two of them if they do good in the offseason.

This. If he can do this at the MLB level, he can be successful. Hasn't proved he can (in fact, if he has proven anything, it is that he can't), but is too young and too LH to give up on when you have the chance to see more since you are just running out the string.

If he's not fully healthy, I agree. If he can play, let him play. Doesn't help anything economically to sit him and he needs reps as he is still young.

Top Cincinnati Reds prospect Hunter Greene’s season is over at Dayton as he has a sprained UCL in his throwing elbow. Yes, it would be infinitely cooler if he had a UEFA Champions League in his elbow, but it’s a sprained ulnar collateral ligament, instead.
