With 8 seconds on the clock, down 72-71, NCC had to go the length of the floor. DeSales chose to double up on Brennan Hall and leave Braden Posey unguarded. The inbounds went to Posey and he proceeded to dribble hastily across half court with no defender in sight. His decision to penetrate the lane and finish close to the rim in traffic was a good one. Right handed layup off the glass trickled in with 2 seconds left.

Braden has a knack for getting to the rim, nice to hear he finished and got the Breds the win. The Birds certainly could use him at the PG position this year IMO even though I havent seen them play yet.

DeSales had plenty of size and some shooters. Not sure of names but #22 was by far their best player. Heard he was a transfer from Trinity. On taller side and a good shooter. Led them in pts. #3 is a good guard that shot the 3 well and had a soft touch on floaters. #33 is their 6'8" 300 lb big. He had around 8 pts and a few boards but seemed slow footed and ended with 4 fouls. They will win their fair share of games.

Samuel Weining is #22 and he may have been at Trinity at one time, but he was with DeSales last season and was expected to be the best player on this DeSales team this season. Last year they had Jaxon Burgess who was a very good player and Sam is the heir to that role this season. DeSales figures to be a team in the 6th that falls in the top half of the region, but somewhere between 6-10 is where they will likely stay in the weekly rankings. I do not see them going into the top 5, but also do not see them dropping outside the Top 10. Coach Crews is a great coach.

3 seasons ago they were in the 6th region finals and were 13-4 in regional play. 2 seasons ago they were not very good in the regular season (10-21), but got hot come tourney time and were in the semi finals of the 6th. Last year they were 18-13 and about .500 in regional play. They again made the regional tournament losing in the first round to Fern Creek. This season will be tough to get to the regional tournament as they play in a very hard district with Doss and Butler likely to be there and Iroquois a darkhorse along with DeSales. It is probably the toughest district in the 6th.
