  1. Last year was a miserable game, it was cold and raining. I'd say that Boone had as much with stopping the run as HC did, they fumbled in the redzone twice! With that said, Henry Clay had a good passing attack and Boone had no answer for that. Boone is a much improved defensive team this year. Reports are that HC has played extremely well the last four games and seem to be peaking at the right time. I hope that Boone doesn't have a let down after their big win last week. Look for a close one; I'll take Boone 21 - 17.
  2. Ryle made some good adjustments and Boone did loose some intensity. My son said that the coaches didn't care for the TV timeouts, it affected their momentum. So much of the game is fueled on emotion.
  3. He was born in Kenya and his family move to the Bronx in New York City. They relocated to Bonne County several years ago.
  4. Boone County sixth??? They're 6-1; undefeated in the district, and playing for the District championship tonight. Ballard has 3 regional losses and 1 of those were in the district yet they're rated higher than Boone??
  5. The field is so dry. It will take more than the rain forecasted to alter the field for the playoffs.
  6. Unfortunately, it looks as if Alford is out for the year. Walsh, the senior backup, has split snaps with Alford in practice all year and proved against Dixie that he's ready to play. He has command of the offense and can make all the throws.
  7. I'll take Boone. They may not have as many skill athletes as last year, but they're a better team. Their defense is much better than last year's. Boone 21-7.
  8. Boone's defense is much better than people give them credit for. They're fast and react quickly to the ball. It's difficult for many teams to sustain any kind of momentum against them.
  9. Mike Walsh played QB and did very well. There were a couple of procedure penalties, probably due to the different cadence but other than that, Boone looked very smooth.
  10. The BC stands were shocked as well. We were very concerned about this game. Boone was coming off the Bye week and two weeks ago they had Cooper. With SK's playoff hopes on the line and the ability of Simpson, we were holding our breath and looking for a slug fest. Boone not only arose to the challenge, they showed me that they're hungry.
  11. The report is that he's OK and he went to the hospital as a precaution. He was expected to be released tonight.
  12. Boone came out and "punched them in the mouth" and SK was on their heels the rest of the night. Boone's defense was relentless, they were not going to let Simpson run on them.
  13. My son plays for Boone and he told us last night that the schedule (7:30) was wrong and the game starts at 7:00.
  14. Actually, he has 1047 yards on 156 attempts and 12 touchdowns in 5 games for an average of 209 yards per game. Keep in mind that he didn't play the entire first quarter against Cooper because of the score. I respect Boone for not padding his stats.
  15. Conner dominated the game with the exception of Ryle's first drive in the second half. I would have liked to see less passing and more of Pugh in the first half and Conner may have put it away early. Pugh looked unstoppable at times.
  16. Boone played them the first quarter. The score was 42-0. It was 14-0 30 seconds into the game (an opening kickoff return for a touchdown and then an int. on the first play from scrimage for a td). Boone took a fair catch on every pass and the first two strings didn't have a pass attempt. The only one of the night came in the third quarter by the JV quarterback on a third and 20. Cooper should alot of heart, give them a couple of years to build a program and they'll be fine.
  17. His name is Charles Quainoo. Conner keyed on him in the first half and was very effective in shutting him down. Boone made some great adjustments in the second half with sweeps and misdirection plays. I haven't seen the official stats but I'd say that Quainoo was close to 200 yards.
  18. Lokesak had one touchdown reception for 50+ yards. He made a tremendous move after the catch to get in the endzone. Overall, he probably had but three catches, Boone controlled the second half with the ground game.
  19. Congrats to all the athletes who made it! I just wonder how Farris can rush for over 2500 yards and not one Boone offensive lineman gets in???
  20. #55 John Shanks (RT) 315 lbs. and a lead sled!; #53 Chad Riley (LG); #50 Nick Blessing ©; #88 Sam Brown (TE); #52 Jake Beard (LT); #43 Andrew Brown (TE); and #65 Andy Rich (RG); as well as several other capable back ups! They move them around alot and try to keep their legs fresh. By the fourth quarter, they tend to dominate. Unfortunately, most of them are seniors but there are some talented young men ready to step up next year. Keep an eye on #68 Tyler Potter, a sophmore who has tremendous blocking and footwork techniques. These young men have done an exceptional job this year and haven't recieved much recognition outside of Corey Farris who is quick to point out that they're the reason for his success. These young men are standup fellows as well. If I'm not mistaken, most of them attended every JV game to support the underclassmen. They've got their work cut out for them tonight, but they've proven to be warriors all season. Good Luck Rebels!!!
  21. On paper, on tradition, and even on talent Boone doesn't have much of a chance; but that's why we play the games! All Arkansas had going for it yesterday against the #1 team in the country was heart and one heck of a running back. Who knows? Lightning may strike twice! Go Rebels!!!!
