  1. If Boone beats Cooper this week, they'll be 6-2 as well.
  2. Thumbs up to the Camels kicker who nailed a 41 yard FG that may have been good from 50!
  3. I echo what the Guru is saying. The Camels looked great in the first half and their QB threw the ball as well as any I've seen at the Frosh level. I couldn't believe that they had just two wins this year. I don't know what Coach Floyd says to the Rebels at halftime but someone needs to get a patent on it! The Rebels look like they they've never practiced together in the first half, Coach Floyd then waves a magic wand and they turn into the 1985 Chicago Bears the 2nd half! I'm glad they find a way to win but they're giving me a ulcer!
  4. Look for Boone to build on the momentum of the Highlands victory.
  5. Agreed, they have to prove themselves against better competition to crack the top ten. I wouldn't be so quick to factor wins and losses before the games are played, Boone has passed each test thus far and are gaining confidence. Couple that with a uncharacteristic passing game, who knows how well they'll finish? I haven't drunk the cool aid but I have been pleasantly surprised and am looking forward to seeing them against tougher opponents.
  6. Boone County is 3-0, I was looking to see how everyone else is doing. Any idea's?
  7. You are correct in your assumption and Chase is the BCHS Frosh Head Coach. The kids love playing for him and he's inovative in his approach. He has a bright future ahead of him.
  8. Last week Boone's offense was sluggish and shot itself in the foot every time they had some momentum. Couple that with the 100 degree temperature and they were poor at best. This week they made some changes, they started the game with a no huddle and had more intensity. Most of the players went both ways and didn't come off the field, they showed great grit in not giving up being down 14 late in the third. They have the chance to be something special in acouple of years.
  9. Big win for the Rebels, this should propel their confidence. Highlands was well coached and Hoge has a great arm and will be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.
  10. All conventional wisdom suggests the Birds but I'm going against all logic and go with the underdogs. The Rebels eke one out in a titantic defensive struggle.
  11. Boone's Freshman team is loaded with athletes! They scrimmaged the Boone JV squad and only gave up positive yardage on one play. Ryle will be a test to how good they are and can be. I look for Boone to win by at least two touchdowns.
  12. Boone's freshman team is loaded with athletes, they could have put 60 on the board in this one. If this unit stays together and grow as players they could be something special in a couple of years!
  13. I was told if they have to shut down the district, it would take at least two weeks to sanitize every school. They couldn't open back up until all elementary, middle, and high schools met government sanitary standards.
  14. Quainoo wasn't hurt at the end of the season but rather in the middle. He still led the state in rushing yards despite missing three games. He's bigger and stronger this year. Boone folded last year because their QB was hurt and missed the final six games. Miles Simpson is a load and truly a gifted back and deserving of any praise that comes his way. Boone did not have a single lineman with any state or even regional honor awards last year. I'll pick Boone by two touchdowns this week, 35-21.
  15. Scott County really came to play. They got the ball first and marched right down field for a td. Their QB has one of the best play action fakes I've seen in awhile. Boone played sloppy all night. The center snapped the ball over the QB's head numerous times while in the shotgun, they had two field goals and one punt blocked, and their tackling was poor. Given that, they were down 14 to 7 at the half and had a chance to tie it before the break but failed to do so. Charles Quainoo looked great, the best he's played this year. Alford threw a couple of Int's but made up for one by intercepting one himself and ran it 40+ yards on the return. Scott kept the pressure on all night and displayed a very good running game. They're a good football team. Hopefully Boone learns from this game and bounces back next week.
  16. I know that Boone has put in a new defense this week and have given a lot of study to films on Scott County. The also have worked to improve their special teams. Given that the last two years these teams have matched up well and played very close, it should be a good game.
