The announcement should come today

Heard that Boone will make an announcement next week.

Boone County has been interviewing but word has it that there aren't that many candidates who have applied.

Good pitching, defense, and timely hitting in this one by the Lady Rebels.

The Rebels are young yet maturing quickly. There is a lot of room for growth. Their strengths are a very good freshman pitcher with ice water in her veins and a hard hitting middle of the line up. They should be tested this weekend in the Capital City Classic.

Olivia Jackson pitched a one hitter and Haley Delaney went yard to highlight the Boone offense.

Boone wins with a walk off single by Shelby Wright in the bottom of the 7th. It was a great pitching duel between Smith and Jackson. Boone had two great defensive plays, Nikki Bridgers with her first start in left field threw out a runner at the plate equaling an earlier play by Taylor Werks who threw out one at the plate from right field.

Boone won the Crittenden County Classic by going 3-0. Olivia Jackson threw a no hitter in the championship game and missed a perfect game by just allowing one walk.

Foster hit a triple and walked 3 times. Black had a double, Jackson had a double, and the rest of the lineup hit well too.

Foster hit a bomb over the centerfield fence to start the scoring. Black had a double with two RBI's and Delaney hit the ball well too.

Biz was dealing allowing just one hit and only five hitters to get on base. Conner fields it well, had good timely hitting, and are well coached. They're the team to beat in the district. With that said, Boone suffered from not playing for two weeks. They committed nine errors which aided Conner's run total. Boone certainly wasn't ready to play in such an important game. Congrats to the Lady Cougar's and congrats to Biz for setting the Conner record for wins.

When it's that cold you risk injuries (especially hamstrings). Pitchers also can't feel the ball and it effects their control (ever been beaned with a shot put? That's what the ball feels like when it''s cold!) The only reason for playing is to get a game in. You just may lose more than a contest if you choose to play!
