  1. Good win for our girls! Leslie Eagle had 29 points I believe. Tessa Henry hit two big three's in the 4th quarter. The young Lady Cougars get back on the winning track and pick up their 10th win of the season.
  2. Very happy for Coach Marksberry and his teams accomplishments. Jeff is a super person and asset to Simon Kenton High School :ylsuper:
  3. Rough...meaning Fleming Co. try to get physcial with them?
  4. Can people in BGP land please tell me the INTENT of the following statement Tie breaker #2 2. Point difference between the TWO teams that are tied Why would Morgan County follow a two way tie breaking system when the FACT of the matter is, there is a three way tie Furthermore, what documentation proof can you provide that denotes a point system of +11, +7, etc. by tallying up points of games and how bad someone beat the other?
  5. Morgan Co. offered to let the kids decide the outcome, but that was met hastily with a nope, meeting is done today, and kids have already decided...so now, since their own ruling in their favor was overturned, they want a mulligan and say "oh let's play now".....It was clearly said in the meeting that the kids have already decided it and they wanted it to stop then, thus benefitting them...which was against the strong urge by the KHSAA to post-pone the seeding until Sunday....in addition, a motion was clearly made by Morgan Co. to abide by KHSAA reccomendation and have the seeding done on Sunday to ALLOW THE KIDS TO DECIDED...but that was denied by East's administration. Facts are facts. The motion made by Morgan Co. died for a lack of a 2nd motion...there was no vote. Those are facts and they are documented.
  6. The only way Morgan gets the 4th slot is through coin toss. West is 9-4, Morgan 12-5 and East 9-5. Morgan could very well be the #2 seed, but 2 or 3 don't matter in all reality. A Morgan Co. win would give them a .722% A West Carter win would give them a .714% A East Carter win would give them a .667%
  7. Congratulations to a wonderful person. Ethan will finally graduate after 11 years of varsity basketball!! Great accomplishment in a series of many great accomplishments for him. Also, does Dale Ferguson have the most total high school points in his house in Kentucky history?
  8. Morgan didn't play particularly well, but I give Montgomery Co. credit for causing them to not play as well. The Indians, much like Morgan Co., are fundamentally sound defensively. Coach Greisser does an excellent job at Montgomery.
  9. Morgan County's Tyler Adkins hit a fade away 23 footer with :03 left in regulation to tie the game at 45-45 and send to overtime. The Cougars got a couple of easy buckets against the Montgomery press and a crucial And1 by Jarrad Smith opened the lead and Morgan never looked back. The last second shot by Adkins was the first "last" second shot to tie a game or win a game in Coach Perry's career...after 9 years and several missed last second shots....FINALLY, a shot goes in to propel the Cougars. If the Cougars win tomorrow night vs. Bath Co.,they will secure the #3 seed in the 62nd district. Incredible gutty win for the Cougs.:thumb:
  10. Boy's Morgan Co. Vs. Montgomery Co. at 6:00 PM Girl's Morgan Co. Vs. Elliott Co. at 7:30 or 20 minutes upon conclusion of the Boy's game.
  11. Morgan County 53 Boyd County 19 At the half.
  12. At the end of the 1st quarter, Morgan County leads 31-9. Cameron Dunn with 17 1st Q. points.
  13. Cougars create a log jam in the 62nd district. Three way tie between East, Morgan, and West Carter now. Huge win for the Cougars at home.:dancingpa
  14. The tie breaker is overall winning percentage of their entire schedule (EXCLUDING TOURNAMENT GAMES)
  15. LOL We need the old "Dead Horse" trophy from 2001-2002 BGP season....you guys probably don't remember those days!
  16. Once again...Coach Carr has his teams ready to play the best and they play their best. A close game between two close friends Henley and Carr would have been awesome to witness myself. This type of game will benefit Holmes as well. Both coaches are as good at preparing their teams as anyone around. Since about Christmas, Cov. Scott has made a complete make-over for the better... Congrats to both teams on an outstanding game.
  17. Somebody asked for some stat lines... Elliott County (74) Ethan Faulkner 14 Evan Faulkner 9 Chris Knipp 11 Timmy Knipp 10 Jonathan Ferguson 27 Jarad Flannery 3 Elliott hit 9 three point FG's (Ferguson 5) and was 19-30 at the FT line Morgan County (63) Tyler Adkins 13 Cameron Dunn 14 Tanner Roy 11 Mikie Fyffe 10 Colby Jones 7 Jarad Smith 4 Joel Nickell 4 Morgan hit 2-12 three point FG's (Roy, Adkins) and was 17-21 at the FT line
  18. Congrats to Jonathan....he's a big time shooter and scorer obviously, and even better kid. Congrats to him, he was in a battle tonight and his 3's sealed any threat of an upset tonight. Congrats once again, and happy 79th birthday to Dale!
  19. One of the guttiest Cougar performances in many, many years. The Cougars had the Lions on the ropes the whole game. It was a single digit lead late and late in the 4th Elliott was up 59-55 and the Cougars missed a wide open layup. Elliott goes down and hits a three. Morgan had the ball down 66-61 and missed two FT's. Morgan's offensive game plan was excellent and it wasn't a slow down game, it was effective in getting high percentage shots. Elliott showed a lot of moxy by creating the cushion needed and getting baskets to keep the Cougars at bay. Morgan actually had a chance to take the lead and missed two three pointers as well, Morgan only shot 2-12 from the 3 point line. Morgan handled the pressure from Elliott well. Chris Knipp was the hero for the Lions in the 4th, he made some outstanding plays late. It was a very entertaining game to watch!
  20. Lady Cougars have forgot how to guard lately and that is two consecutive games in which their opponent has shot the basketball very well from the perimeter. Solid road win for Lewis Co.
  21. Should be a packed Veteran's Memorial on Monday night.
  22. Aaron Rayburn was outstanding for the Comets. Very smooth, can create and pull up from about anywhere on the court. With another year or two and more strength, Rayburn could be among the Regions best along with Elliott's Timmy Knipp. He is an outstanding basketball player. Taylor Webb's and Matt Logan's athleticsim help the comets as well and Ace Puckett played strong inside. The Cougars struggled shooting compared to Friday night and had some uncharacteristic turnovers. With the score at 27-26 at the half, I thought Morgan had some chances to take over in the 3rd but couldn't. The Cougars are among the regions best defensive teams and West Carter hit em up for a69. Only 1 other team (Elliott County) has score more than 55 points vs. the Cougars this season. Cougars owe those Comets at somepoint!
  23. Thoughts and prayers from the Cougar Nation in Morgan Co. as well. Von is an outstanding person and coach and we are all wishing her well. She is top notch.
