  1. Easy Ethan and Evan Faulkner WINNERS
  2. Collins is the real deal.
  3. No, she is undecided... being courted by Union College in Kentucky and Union (Tennessee) heavily
  4. A very sloppy offensive game for the Cougars last night. Multiple layups missed and not a good flow of the game for the Lady Cougars. Tessa Henry had 16 and Eagle 27 but the Lady Cougars certainly struggled, shooting on 38% and most from point blank range. Wolfe was lead by Kayla Stamper is an outstanding player for the Lady Wolves and Spencer played well also. Lady Cougars hope to haver starter Faith Slone back by the East Carter game next Monday. They have played without her since the Elliott Co. game and they desperately need her post-play and ability to matchup defensively inside vs. opponents. Lady Cougars even their record at (2-2) on the season with a huge district matchup vs. one of the 16th regions best East Carter on Monday.
  5. This game was added last week. Wolfe Co. will play at Morgan Co. tonight.
  6. Nobody should blame Elliott Co. for playing basketball for 32 minutes. They play the same speed for 32 solid minutes. Nothing wrong with that.
  7. Cougars got 22 points off the bench from Mikie Fyffe. Cameron Dunn and Tyler Adkins combined for 13-13 at the FT line and both were in double figures. Morgan's half court defense was outstanding as every shot was contested. The Cougars did turn the ball over quite a bit late in the game. Morgan led 48-30 and had a chance to increase that lead but several To's and Rose Hill knocked down a couple quick 3's to cut into the lead...Morgan would make the FT's down the stretch despite missing 7 of 8 at one point. Rose Hill has some talent, albeit young...they have some talent and have some great size. Morgan was more athletic than the Royals...as a whole. Terry will be a great player at Rose Hill, actually...he already is. I was somewhat suprised at the score as well, and it could have been even more. Good win #801:thumb:
  8. So the starters dont deserve to play more than one quarter? I think sitting them the fourth is a great gesture by Coach Mays. These players practice daily and deserve the chance to shine for at least two quarters on game nights.
  9. KHSAA has the score 59-56
  10. Dont look for Kidwell to return the favor. His team led a girls game last year 40-0 at the half and his team ended up winning by 12.
  11. Speedy G, Referring back to your post on page 1...I commented on the match ups of Elliott Vs. Scott Co and Holmes and made a remark regarding those....that's it...very simple.
  12. Big win for the BULLDOGS...I was receiving updates often from the game and was hoping they could hold on. As far as #1, very debatable but I really believe when it comes down to playing the games, it is all about the "match ups" I think Elliott County matches up better against Scott Co. and would give Elliott the edge there, however, HOLMES is the one team that I think "match up" wise would be the toughest for the Lions to match up with by far...the length, speed, strength, and ability to defend can be the trump card...I was hoping for an Elliott/Holmes match up...but maybe it'll be in Rupp. Elijah Pittman and the Johnson bros. are big time. Jamel Riley with 5 three's?!! Congrats to Coach Henley and his team on a great win.
  13. Yes I believe Raceland was full strength....Boyles played but I understand he had some ankle issues. He did seem to move better once the game got going than he did early on...he seemed fine...great player. Morgan Co. probably had every opportunity to blow the game more open but many missed FT (front ends of 1 and 1, etc) prevented the lead from swelling too great. Morgan is a middle of the pack 16th region team...probably anywhere from the 6-10 ranking in the region. They are athletic and will guard you...as always. Fairly balanced attack among 7 players. Not an offensive juggernaut but have the ability to shoot it a little better this season than last as a whole. They have several seniors as well.
  14. There were no hard fouls by Russell players in the fourth quarter of the game. No cheap shots or trash talking. The game is over. Move on. The Devils have a huge district seed game vs Raceland coming up on Thursday.
  15. How long were starters kept in the game? I heard until about the 1:30 mark. Kidwell had already emptied his bench.
  16. Cougars get MCHS Boy's basketball win number 800 with this victory! 800-647 record for Cougar Basketball Morgan trailed 7-0 before Coach Perry calls timeout and the Cougars would then go on a 14-0 run and eventually a 25-5 run before closing the 1st half with a 35-22 lead. The Cougars shot poorly and missed a ton of free throws in the 2nd half to cut the double digit lead in which Raceland would cut to 7 at point I believe. Congrats to the Cougars (1-1), they will play at home vs. Rose Hill on Tuesday.
  17. Lewis is 0-4 but to very good teams. Ashland, Covington Scott, East Carter, and Elliott County. They are much better than their record.
