The Head Director Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Recent or back in the days, Who was the best player from your high school that has ever played? or Someone that you saw play?
The Head Director Posted December 23, 2005 Author Posted December 23, 2005 Most definetly, I seen him play one night he had 56 points, that was before the three point shot, and most of shots would have been three pointers!!!!
The Head Director Posted December 23, 2005 Author Posted December 23, 2005 John Turner from Newport back in the days was a pioneer for high school basketball. Went on and played for Louisville and took the Cardinals to the final four.
NEERFAN Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 West was a good player for the Tigers went to a few camps with him, Craig Bricking and Tony Ross.
cshs81 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Conner is a tough call. You've got Tony Faehr, Rick Hicks, and Ralph Parton from the 70s. Scott Thomas in the 80s. I'd say one of those 4.
SKNEERS Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Simon Kenton--Jeff Krohman or Troy McKinley cannot chose betweent those 2.
The Head Director Posted December 23, 2005 Author Posted December 23, 2005 What about Dave Cowens, he played for New Cath back in the 60's. Then went on and played for the Boston Celtics!!
mexitucky Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 What about Dave Cowens, he played for New Cath back in the 60's. Then went on and played for the Boston Celtics!! He wasn't the best player on his team, and he'll tell you that. He was a great rebounder and very athletic, however he blossomed at FSU. For NewCath, from my memory of b-ball there, which is very limited, 90-present I'd say John Brannen.
UKBLUE1964 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Lawrence County has had several good players throughout the years but not one that stands out but here is my short list: Mike Ryan Sam Sparks David Michael Kevin Ferguson Brian Skaggs Eddie Vinson Phil Ratliff Glen Robinson Spencer Harris - My personal all-time favorite. Gerad Parker Derrick Endicott
ColonelCrazy Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 At Covington Catholic, I'd probably say Roger Tieman. PJ Thelen did have a few NBA tryouts, though. But, much like Cowens, Thelen blossomed after his high school playing days.
