He wasn't the best player on his team, and he'll tell you that. He was a great rebounder and very athletic, however he blossomed at FSU. For NewCath, from my memory of b-ball there, which is very limited, 90-present I'd say John Brannen.

 

He's a NBA Hall of Famer, a league MVP, a 7-time NBA All Star, and is listed as one of the 50 greatest players ever, I'd say it's probably Dave Cowens..

What about Jack Jennings, Dickie Beal, and Doug Schlomer, from the Covington Holmes Bulldogs. They were some great high school players!!!

Troy McKinley from Simon Kenton..... Had one of the sweetest shots and really carried SK to the '81 state title.....

Dick Maile did play at Covington Catholic, and he's another option. The more I think about it, the more right answers there are.

 

I think his son played at Highlands, did he not? His son (Dick's grandson) is now a frosh at CCH and plays JV & may dress some varsity.

Rich a.k.a. (Dickie) Maile played for Highlands in the early to mid 80's........

Brannen played two seasons at Morehead, and two seasons at Marshall. I believe he was the Southern Conference POY.

Andre McClendon is the best I've seen from Holy Cross. But someone from the 62 team was probably better.

I've only seen those guys in alumni tournaments. I said the best I've seen. From what I hear Lenihan was better than Eifert. List was also good, but the best player was from the 62 team.
