Two guys from Pendleton County HS said that their best two players were Talbert Turner and Bobby Lee Wyatt. I agree with these two, but random people have told me about a guy who used to play for the old Falmouth HS named Jimmy Hammond. I think he played in the fifties. Have you all heard of him?

My list is certainly not "all inclusive" and my time lines probably do "blurr". You are absolutely right in adding Jeff Fischer to the list... Danny Sullivan ...alright add him too!! (CCHS made a big mistake letting him get away IMHO). Anybody else got additions???

Having played against the old St Thomas High School I remember a fellow by the name of Phil Hanson who could flat out play. Tremendous outside shot and when he got you to start playing up on him he would drive the baseline and leave you in his dust.

No because Daryl Griffith is the best player that Kentucky has ever produced,........ period.

I'd say Kevin Reinhardt from Campbell County, starting for NKU.

Mayfield High School: Joe Ford (High School All-American and standout at Vandy) He graduated from MHS in the early '70's.

I know your being sarcastic here. What point your trying to make I'm unsure of.

 

The best from JCHS would be Howard Wallen Jr., David Couch, Paul Bradley LeMaster, Harry Meek, or Tommy Mckenzie. I say it would be one of those.

At Breathitt, the most talented player I ever watched was Johnny Stacy, but the player I'd actually want on my team was Scott Moore. That's from about '87-present. I can't speak for the years before that, but I know we've had some pretty good ones.

Here's the scoop on Jimmy Hammondfrom Falmouth High School.He graduated in 1962.He was about 6ft.4in. and about 230lbs. he averaged about 25 a game and was one of the best rebounders ever in the region. he currently lives in Falmouth and is a friend of mine . And yes he was very good!!!

I disagree... I believe Dave Cowens is the best player to ever come out of Kentucky. It's hard to argue against his acheivements. But I guess it depends on how you look at the question, as a highschool player, you might be able to argue against Cowens, but if you take the way I do, Cowens was one of the best players to ever play the game, so I would say he's the best to come out of Kentucky.... period.

 

 

I think Wes Unseld is the best to ever come out of Kentucky. All a matter of opinion though.
