I agree that Calipari would have stressed this point......IMO the logical progression would be for a spot to open BEFORE a commitment given. Its a pretty big decision for theses kids...I wouldnt commit until I knew the scholly was available.

Did anyone else pick up on it when he stressed that he could recruit "the best of the best to play here"? Does this phrase seem to indicate that he can now get in living rooms that he couldnt get to at Memphis? Wow.....I thought he had awfully good players at Memphis.....

It is my understanding that the officials would rather go out of region....too many officials end up scratched after a coach has a bad night in the regional tournament. When the season ends somebody has to take the blame. Plus they dont live/work in those communities so they dont have to hear about it long after it is over.
