I have not seem them play but discussed their most recent game, a win, with someone who has been around all levels of college basketball for many years and his description of the game was this...."this game was between perhaps the two worst teams in all of college basketball"........He also said...."Morehead might win 5 games this year"........I was left to think they were not very good. Was I mis-informed?

I've done some coaching and some officiating but by far the most difficult task is giving instruction to my own 6 yr old daughter. She is truly a gift from God and part of her blessing is to teach her father patience.

It just took about 5 days for this one to get straightened out......A poor old offical only has a split second to know the answer......

Please remember the opposite also holds true......You dont have to be out of the box, shouting or jumping up and down to receive a T.......Just say the magic words and you might get one while sitting in your seat....By the way, there are several "magic words" and I dont just mean cursing.

There is no frontcourt/backcourt during a throw in so to speak. The court status only becomes relevant when the throw in ends and such status is determined. If that status is with one foot on either side of the mid court line then you have backcourt status and may pass the ball further into backcourt if you so choose.

No violation in the scenario you described

I think I would refrain from calling a violation because as I "visualize" the play described, I dont think the ball ever achieved frontcourt status. I think the dribbler having one foot in backcourt, thereby keeping the ball in backcourt status, supercedes the "touching" by another member of team A.

If I understand your description clearly, I think this is the only time you will count the basket when a player control foul is called.

My point is that there could be any number of "other circumstances" under which he may have had not other choice than to resign. While I dont agree entirely with BigBlueFreak's opinion about whether or not it is appropriate to discuss the issue, I dont intend to mention specifics in a public forum. I doubt the press or school admin intends to make any public comments either or it would have already been done.

Think about this for a second.........If this was the sole reason, why on earth would he resign his teaching position thereby losing his health insurance? Under this circumstance he could have taken vacation time, medical leave or something short of resigning........Under other circumstances he may have been given no other choice but to resign. I agree 100% that his on court performance speaks for itself but you cant seperate on court from off court. You must take the whole package and unfortunately off the court seems to be where the issues arose.

I heard the same news over the weekend. I am not sure what to think about this decision. If the true reason for Troys departure is what I believe it to be, then it seems to me Kelly would be sticking his own neck out awfully far.

Yes.....that is right and I knew it.....just had a momentary lapse..... I hate to see Troy Lee go but it is most important that he get healthy.....Coach High is a pretty darn good replacement if you ask me.

I thought Coach High was now the AD at Montgomery....

I know that in high school basketball for the 2007-08 season uniforms must be white for home team and dark for visitor.

IMHO legalizing gaming in KY will be much like the lottery.....another poor man's tax.......Lets find another way for the government to squeeze another dime from the fixed income crowd. Lets pretend for a second that we live in a society that doesnt currently exist.....one where everyone who visits the new gaming establishment will view it as entertainment only, not a way to "hit the jackpot" and they only wager what they can afford. In this make believe world we dont have to fear the other social issues that many feel will come along with gaming...they simply wont exist. Lets forget all those issues...........What has state government (or federal for that matter) EVER done from the beginning of time til now, that makes you want to put more money in their control?

Dont know if it is a done deal or not but it is very likely to happen.......As Jay said, Bath has some talent coming back. I dont have a rooting interest at all but I am curious to see what Hicks could do there.

Heard from someone attending this camp that Rose Hill has added a nice point guard to the roster. Also hear they are pretty big across the front line and I dont just mean Euton. Anybody with more detail?

If both teams take care of business the first couple of weeks the game will be picked up.......it's that simple. Brooks didnt choose to move the game out of fear of TV exposure.....he rightfully wanted it moved to allow prep time....especially with a new coach and new system to prepare for. What tune will the redbirds sing when the game does get televised and they end up holding a big "L"? I bet they will wish it wasnt televised then.......

Raceland, Russell, Ashland, East Carter, Lewis Co, Greenup Co, Rock Hill all participated....One more team from OH too but not sure who.....maybe Chespeake?????
