  1. Wasnt '87 Greg Adkins Sr year? and a Price guy...maybe Mike Price? I really thought they were a 20 game winner in '87 too.......I guess the memory is one of the first things to go.....I forget what they next thing is.
  2. Gosh is that accurate? I remember that Rowan team as being pretty solid. I would have thought their record was much better....
  3. I wish I could say the same but........well lets just leave it at that....
  4. Yes I have seen the court many many many times...........I personally dont think it is any problem to tell the difference between a volleyball court markings and basketball court markings but hey thats just me.
  5. Thanks Go......I knew I could count on "The Information Station" I personally hope this starts a new trend for the ladies tournament. I have always thought Weatherby would be a GREAT atmosphere for their tournament.
  6. Does Morehead States win last night assure them a home game in the OVC tournment? If so will the Girls Regional be moved to Weatherby for the 1st round?
  7. You will always score exactly ZERO on the shots you dont take......
  8. Maybe thats the circle he's talking about.......???
  9. Sounds like these guys might want to open their rules book. They get a new one every year when they register. How can we throw stones at fans for not knowing the rules if the officials dont know them either?
  10. Very simply....he is wrong. From the National Fed rule book: Rule 4 Section 10 "Closely Guarded "A closely guarded situation occurs when a player in control of the ball in his/her teams frontcourt, is continuously guarded by any opponent who is within 6 feet of the player who is holding or dribbling the ball. A closely guarded count shall be terminated when the offensive player in control of the ball gets his/her head and shoulders past the defensive player".
  11. You are right...some officials dont apply this rule correctly. It penalizes the defense if you force them to get right up in a dribblers face to get a closely guarded count. A great advantage is gained by the offense on such plays.
  12. This will be my last comment on the subject so feel free to take your shots afterward..........You assume I dont know the facts myself and Shaft that would be a mistake. You in fact proved my point in your own statment. You say he could have "delayed the situation until next year". That alone says a suspension was going to be paid....just a matter of when. If he was as innocent as you want to believe why would a penalty be forthcoming? Just becuase you belive it doesnt make it true my friend......
  13. Shaft you can form any opinion you choose from my posts but because my opinion differs from yours dont discount what I may or may not know about sports. You might be surprised to find out I know a considerable amount. If you have read my other post you will see that I gave Hicks credit for being a good coach. I dont doubt the fact that he gets along well with the players and parents. It is in his or any coaches best interest to do so. Talk all you want about how much his players love him and how much he loves them...... belive what you want but his history shows that he would have fought tooth and nail against a suspension if he thought he could win. His "love" for the kids would have taken a back seat to him proving his point if it were possible to do so......
  14. Congratulations to all three.........they are great officials and will represent the 16th very well. On a side note..........I hope the KHSAA doesnt allow another media circus like the last time a lady officiated the Boys Sweet 16. I think it really hurt her performance. Marla deserves the chance to show her best without all the added media attention and pressure.
  15. Do you realize the distance necessary to be considered closely guarded is 6ft? Just as a reference, that is the distance from the free throw line to the top of the three point arc.
  16. What a great guy.......glad he took the high road and put his kids first... He has such a strong history of thinking of his kids first.....
  17. You really have no clue how difficult this would be.......
  18. Then why was it necessary to tell us that you had the details?
  19. Don I agree that he has a solid team.....great bunch of kids....I'll even say that Hicks is a good coach but his paranoia goes a bit too far sometimes. Its a shame to think he could pass that kind of an attitude along to the kids. You have to learn to lose as graciously as you win.
  20. Dont forget his dad....David. He was a heck of a player for West in the early 80's.
  21. Again this is incorrect. I, in fact did listen to the show myself and heard every single word as did every person in my car that night. If this was such a conflict of interest then why didnt Hicks complain about this when the same official called the game at Rose Hill when he beat them? I can answer that for you......He is just looking for an excuse......He never gets beat, he only gets cheated.
  22. You should read a bit further.....it explains how the KHSAA will handle anonymous letters......It states "Anonymous letters sent to the KHSAA shall be forwarded to the school administator of the school in question by the KHSAA Commissioner, with no further action to be taken unless a violation is reported." Maybe the school acknowledged that Hicks made the comments on the radio.....
  23. That is not correct......Names were mentioned and that ultimately is the problem.
