In my opinion there was nothing "outstanding" about Masons defense tonight. They played good D but nothing spectacular. Several open looks by Elliott simply rimmed out...they normally dont. If you want to talk about defense I think you have to point to the subpar halfcourt defense by Elliott. Mason had plenty of open looks in half court offense and they knocked 'em down....Mason 64% Elliott 31%.... This was the first time I have seen Mason in regular season this year. They are an excellent basketball team. Elliott is above average but does have a few weaknesses....

I guess Hicks' old college roommate called this game? Isnt that the only possible explanation for the foul shot discrepancy? According to Hicks it is....

IMO he is very under rated......improved greatly over the summer.....mid range J is deadly......needs to improve D a little bit.....Will be a steal for some college coach.......

What about Cameron Hall from Fairview? Will he be a junior next year or only a sophomore?

I dont want to fail to comment on the Senior Night ceremony.....Very touching......My prayers still go out to the Garnes family. My own parents lost a son at age 8. That has been over 40yrs ago and my Mother's mood still changes during the month of his death.

I was at the game and saw for myself......As for the jersey pulling, in my opinion, you are making a mountain out of a molehill.....I know there was some grabbing going on but not as much as you make it out to be.....I also know that not all contact is going to be called a foul. That doesnt mean it wasnt seen by an official it simply means the officials judged it to not be worthy of a whistle. Why interupt the flow of a game with a foul call on contact that really had no impact on the play/game? Dont get me wrong, there were calls missed last night that probably should have been made. Its that way every game, every night, everywhere.......

Question for you DT......How does a wink and thumbs up classify as taunting? If this is taunting then the official you mention also taunted the young lady who sang the National Anthem. I know for a fact that he turned to her, gave a :thumb: and had the audacity to say "Great Job".....What a bad guy.... My point to you and the gentlemen in the corner is that what you percieve to be a big deal was in fact a very minor gesture. In fact when asked about this situation the official in question just chuckled and said, "No big deal....those guys were just having fun."

While space isnt an issue in this case the Might Dollar probably is.........I bet ladiesbballcoach is on target with his earlier comments about another district. Its certainly a shame.....BUT......there is plenty of time for them to reconsider this decision.

I disagree......It can be a HUGE difference. Every company may have the same technology but there is no one standard for labeling shaft flex. It can and does vary greatly from company to company.....You may want to read a book by Tom Wishon called "The Search for the Perfect Golf Club". Its a great read if you are interested in how a golf club truly works.......

Keep in mind that since there are no specific standards for shaft flex, a Stiff flex from Company A might be considered a XStiff from Company B or Company A's S might be a R for Company B.........

Can anyone give me the dates and location of this tournament? I have to spend a few days in Cincy on business soon and as thinking I could plan it around some good basketball........

From NFHS Rule Book: Rule 5 Section 2 Article 5........"When play is resumed with a throw in or free throw and three-tenths (.3) of a second or less remains on the clock, a player may not gain control of the ball and try for a field goal. In this situation only a tap could score. Note: This rule does not apply if the clock does not display tenths of a second."

I really contemplated my answer to this question for some time........I came to the conclusion that no attention would be paid to me even if I did say it wasnt okay......That being said......let 'er rip...

Don, per the rule, when there is .3 or less on the clock, any attempt must be a "tap"..........I dont know where/why RickyP came up with the .7 number. LRCW......I didnt intend to infer such a thing to RickyP. I thought maybe it was a typo that he put .7 instead of .3..........But you do make a good point, it wouldnt hurt for all of us to brush up on the rules a bit before we "yell and scream".........

I think you mean .3 seconds........Its at this point the attempt must be a "tap" and not a shot......

Are these games to be played on the same dates as scheduled?
