Morehead State should...

Featured Replies

...invite each of the 16 teams in the 16th Region to play one of their regular season games at Ellis T. Johnson Arena. I think it would be a hoot for the players, it would expose them to their regional University and would give all the teams a taste of the atmosphere in anticipation of the Regional Tournament.

I dunno...you might think it's a goofy idea, but I thought I'd throw it out there!

I like the idea of having a Rowan County/MSU doubleheader one weekend. Have Rowan against one of the local teams (Elliott, East, West, Morgan) and the Morehead State game afterwards. That would expose more of the area folks to MSU basketball. I honestly think that if some of these local people watched MSU play once, they would be hooked. They are fun to watch.

Good idea, but I don't think the MSU would go for it . But it would mean money and people in the seats. That is what MSU is lacking now. I enjoy their their games when not following Elliott.

As good of a following as Elliott has, I think it would be very smart to pack the gym in a Rowan/Elliott game and then follow that up with an MSU game against a competitive opponent. I hear alot of the MSU folks complain about not being to get anyone out to the games (although it is getting better) so it seems they would be willing to try something new.

I think the 16th should be held in a central location !

I think the 16th should be held in a central location ! I know, give me the "not enough room" reason........or the "home team" reason ! Thats funny.....Regional Tournaments are held in high school gyms across the state. Some teams drive five minutes to twenty minutes, but most drive one to one and a half hours to Morehead. Just thought I'd throw that out there .

I'm thrilled to have the regional games at MSU!! Of course I've followed my team throughout the last 3 years to both home and away games no matter where they are. At least at MSU I don't have to worry about getting a seat because there are plenty of them!! :thumb:

Hookshot, I may not be thinking of or be overlooking some but aren't Boyd, Greenup Co. and Raceland....possibly Ashland the only ones that have big enough facility to accomodate fans from 4 teams each night (except for the finals). I also realize that goes back to the "not big enough" reason but imo it is true. I would think that regional tournament should be held in the largest facility available. JMO.

Dfenz thats a great idea! I bet the high school games would draw a larger crowd than the MSU games. :ylsuper:

I think this is a great Ideal, should pitch it to Morehead.

I really like the idea of playing one game in Morehead (at MSU)as well.

I think thats an excellent idea, and would help with the attendance issues we were discussing earlier to MSU games.
