Coaching Situation at Rowan Co

Featured Replies

I have heard that Coach Daniel is on a "leave of absence" until the end of the season and then will resign.

My "Morehead source" has informed me that Rowan Co has been talking with former Ashland Head Coach and MSU Assistant Wayne Breeden and he is very interested in taking the Vikings job.

That's interesting. I think Breeden is a good coach. Unfortunately, he was dragged through the Macy regime at MSU.

Breeden would be an exceptional pickup for any school. The guy can flat out coach. Well at least used to be able to.

Pay cut???????

Not sure what this means?

Without going into details, their was a little trouble at RC a week or two ago that got pretty bad.

Breedan would be a excellent choice. If he doesn't take it/want it, I would vote for the girls coach Scott Tackett. He's done a nice job with the Lady Vikings this year. What he lacks in experience he more than makes up for in passion for the game and motivation. He is also a serious student of the game.

Breedan would be a good choice for the boy's program. As for Tackett, I'm not sold just yet. He was handed a gift for this season. This year's team was the culmination of Troy Thomas' hard work. Don't get me wrong - Tackett has done a great job with the team, but I'd like to see what he can do a few years down the road.

From what I have read about the Lady Vikings and Coach Tackett it seems he would be a logical choice. Making the right choice will be crucial in the years to come. I just hope that Rowan doesn't get stuck with a cheerleader and an equipment manager coaching the team.

Will you PM me on the details?

Would love to see him coaching at the High School level again.:thumb:

If I'm mistaken, Coach Breeden is at Owensboro.

Yes and I'm pretty sure he took them to sweet 16 his first year? Rowan would be lucky to have Coach Breeden.

He can obviously coach offense; 41 ppg last year, 70.7 this year. He's doing something right....give a little credit; 24-5 ain't bad.
