So are you condoning the situation?

Is it okay for any coach (Head or Assistant) to do this and keep your job?

I don't know the situation inside and out or how or why it went down, but I got boys of my own, and sometimes they need a dad who gets his point across, sometimes that requires more effort than other times. I don't want to say I condone the situation due to I am far removed from the situation, but your kid, is your kid and how you deal with him is mostly your business and spending some of my short life in Rowan County I would say it was made into a big deal by someone who doesn't like the coach.

That right there is what everyone should be saying. If you have children, you know. And I dare anyone to say that they haven't blown their top with their own kid. As for the last sentence, it says it ALL!

Coach Don Daniel is a class act and he made a mistake. I really wish there was some way he could be back on the sidelines next season! He is intense for sure, and a great coach who made a bad mistake.

A source has just told me that Rowan Co. is very interested in Coach Hicks. The source said that they already have or will be getting in contact with him to talk about him taking the job.

Coach Jim Hicks from Bath County.

Is this a reliable source or was it someone talking at Downtown BP or the local barber shop?

Shaft,

I can guarantee you that there is not way that the administration at Rowan County is interested in Coach Hicks. 100%!!!!

I can honestly say that I have not spoken to Coach Hicks about this. My source told me that Coach Hicks was seen talking to Board members in a restaurant in Morehead. The source also said that one of the board members exact words was we would love to have you here at Rowan County. The person that told me this is a Rowan County fan and has no reason to lie.

I heard Warren Cooper as head coach with Kurt Cundiff as his main assistant.

Shaft I am not saying I know more than you. I have some very reliable sources too. If it happens so be it. I think that Coach Hicks is an outstanding basketball coach and he will be very successful where ever he is a head coach. However he has had some issues at both schools he has coached at in the 16th Region and I do not think the administration at Rowan County would want to have to deal with that.

I think Rowan should drag Lake Kelly out of retirement.

My post WAS stating what a great group of girls these are. I'm a Rowan fan, but I am also a realist. I like Andrew Zaheri and I think he's a great guy - there's no doubt that he has a bright future in coaching. I don't know Scott Tackett, but he has done a wonderful job with the Rowan girls. I wouldn't exactly say that Coach Thomas broke anything. He took a girl's program that I haven't heard a whole lot about and took them to the state tournament and regional finals in back-to-back seasons. When it comes to comparing the resumes of Wayne Breedan with Tackett and Zaheri, however, there is no comparison. That's not a knock on anyone involved. That's just stating that Breedan is far and away more experienced and ready for the head coaching job.

You can add another regional championship and Sweet Sixteen appearance to Breeden's resume :thumb:

I've heard Breeden was a top choice for Montgomery Co.'s job last year and he turned it down. What would make Rowan Co.'s job more attractive than Montgomery's? I'm not trying to be condescending, just curious about how others would feel about this. Not a lot of difference geographically speaking between Mt. Sterling and Morehead. Montgomery is a larger school, with a newer, larger, and nicer gym.
