He can obviously coach offense; 41 ppg last year, 70.7 this year. He's doing something right....

 

I'm not taking any shots at him or anything, but let's face it, that group of girls would be pretty decent without a coach.

So I assume Zaheri won't be offered the full time position?

They are a GREAT group of girls...but watch the games or review the ones Coach Tackett got a techinal and had to put on his seatbelt. One was Clark County when they lost. The girls struggle without their leadership and guidance.

Breedan would be a good choice for the boy's program. As for Tackett, I'm not sold just yet. He was handed a gift for this season. This year's team was the culmination of Troy Thomas' hard work. Don't get me wrong - Tackett has done a great job with the team, but I'd like to see what he can do a few years down the road.

 

First of all.... Let's not put the cart before the horse. I have not heard anything about Don Daniel resigning and don't know whether he should or not. Second.... Andrew Zaheri has done a wonderful job stepping up and coaching this team through a District tourny and getting to the regionals, it would be plain out MEAN to overlook this young coach.... Lastly, Scott Tackett has FIXED what Coach Thomas BROKE!!!!! He was not just handed a Superb team that didn't need a coach. Don't get me wrong, these young ladies are extremely talented, more than what most people want to admit to. they have had to struggle thru adversity losing one coach and then another 2days before a season opening scrimmage, and then taking on a third coach with different philpsophy.People didn't have faith in these girls ... they said they would never make it.... Well, they were wrong, when they picked Scott Tackett, they chose a Wonderful coach, and he cares about these girls wholeheartedly on and off the court....Let's not count our chickens before they hatch!!!!:irked::irked::irked:

So...What did the Rowan Coach do that merited a suspension or dismissal?

My post WAS stating what a great group of girls these are. I'm a Rowan fan, but I am also a realist. I like Andrew Zaheri and I think he's a great guy - there's no doubt that he has a bright future in coaching. I don't know Scott Tackett, but he has done a wonderful job with the Rowan girls. I wouldn't exactly say that Coach Thomas broke anything. He took a girl's program that I haven't heard a whole lot about and took them to the state tournament and regional finals in back-to-back seasons. When it comes to comparing the resumes of Wayne Breedan with Tackett and Zaheri, however, there is no comparison. That's not a knock on anyone involved. That's just stating that Breedan is far and away more experienced and ready for the head coaching job.

 

As far as Daniels, I think everyone on here knows the story but for some reason they keep trying to lure it out of somebody. Everyone needs to review the rule that RAM just posted and do a Google search on their own.:thumb:

I was unfamiliar with the situation, but do know now after the google search. That is crazy. I am a little confused though, how many boys does Daniel have? I though his son already graduated.

Well, MY "Morehead source" tells me that there is no coaching vacancy at Rowan County, and with Breeden's reputation of verbal abuse towards players, he probably wouldn't be a candidate @ RC anyway. This all got started through gossip. Anybody can get on here and make stuff up...just watch how fast it spreads.

Well, I guess you could say he was the recipient of somebody else's hard work then, b/c he went in his first year at RC. That's your logic.

Not sure of why so much rebellious nature in your post. I believe everyone was just assuming that a incident would cause a firing and maybe that is not true. The reports that I have saw led to a 5 day Suspension and that is all I have seen, but no sense in getting too wound up about the situation. Everyone is just discussing what if's from what I have read.

 

But I will state that there is no comparison between Breeden and Daniel. Advantage - Breeden
