16th Region Tournament Attendance

Featured Replies

Did anybody hear any numbers on last night's gate? Is it just me or did anybody else think the crowd was very small. It looked like Bath had a decent size crowd but no one else. I seen several empty lower level seats.

It's been very small in the 10th too.

I wasn't there last night, but I knew several that were. They didn't say anything about the crowd size, only the games that were played.

If the crowd was sparse last night, I'd say that tonight will make up for it!!!!! Elliott ALWAYS has a big following!! :ylsuper:

I would say whoever gets a cut of the gate is hoping you are right and I am sure they will.

East Carter had a pretty good crowd there last night. But overall, I think the attendance was down. Elliott Co will bring the entire town of Sandy Hook this evening and Rowan could have a decent crowd due in large part to proximity. I am not sure about RH and Greenup's crowd. RH had a pretty decent crowd at the All-A and Greenup generally has a pretty good following.

My guess would have been somewhere around 2,500-2,700 last night. I imagine the rest of the tournament will be better (4,000-4,500). That's just my prediction though (and I picked Bath and Raceland last night :(). I was really surprised by the low attendance. I think Ashland was as low as I have ever seen them. Raceland and East was pretty sparse too. Thank goodnes for Bath. They had nearly an entire end-zone and thier adult side full.

Anybody know why Raceland didn't bring their band?

I was in attendance for the 1st game last night and it was quite empty. I was surprised. The crazy thing is that alot of people at the games were with residents of Morehead or something along those lines. Not many fans from the schools though. Bath probably had the biggest crowd that I seen last night.

GC people love 'em some baskeball and I expect a good following tonight. Rose Hill and Elliot pack star power so not only will that attract their crowds, it will attract fans in general. I am, howver, surprised that their would be low attendance last night. Raceland-East was probably the best matchup going in, and Ashland is Ashland. Wake up people-it's March!

In comparrison to other 1st round games in the past few years, I thought the crowd was typical. As far as crowd size for teams, East and Bath brought sizable crowds. Ashland's crowd I thought was smaller than usual and Raceland never has a lot of fans, also due to it being a smaller school

No one will be able to complain about the crowd size tonight, especially on the Elliott side

Seemed like Raceland a bigger crowd at the district than last night.

Gone are the days of the Ashland-Rose Hill OJ Mayo games - they were stacked to rafters back in those days.

I can attest to that...Row ZZ seat, nevermind, I didn't have a seat! Got in on a pass and sat in the aisle;)

I was always a big fan of having the region at Morehead until I went to a couple of 15th region games before the Expo Center. They alternated gyms much like we do district, and the atmosphere was simply awesome!!! With Boyd and Greenup seating close to 5,000, why not alternate it in the 16th?
