  2. East and Morgan play on Monday, West and Elliott play on Tuesday
  3. If not mistaken, that is not true. Didnt they remove the points tiebreaker at the meeting last year due to the fiasco from last years district tournament? It would go to a coin flip
  4. Who made it to the tournament.....:puke:
  5. UK women's basketball beat Tennessee this year!!!:banana::thumb::eek::dancingpa
  6. It was a tie this year: Ethan and Evan Faulkner---Elliott County
  7. I don't see how "the tradition" means anything in this game. I'm taking Rowan in this one by 4.
  8. Anyone that Dale talked to would probably agree with him , just so he would be quiet. It gets old hearing him cry about Billman when Elliott gets more calls than anyone.
  9. No way that Billman should represent the 16th. Marla Gearhart is by far the best . Might as well send Walt Maynard or Carl McGlone.
  10. While you are counting, please let us know how many times the Faulkners guided who they were guarding with their hands wherever they wanted to, also known as a handcheck. And if you are counting number of times that Elliott penetrated to the basket and got the foul called, how about the number of times that East had the ball on the block and in the paint, and did not get a foul call.
  11. We'd still be deciding who played who without school officials!! :thumb::sssh:
  12. It looks like Billman should be doing college games next year. Two officials who have experience at the college level are not going to Rupp this year. Nothing against Joe, he's a good official, just not tops in my opinion.
  13. How can you say the free throw count had no outcome on the game. A difference that large in FT's compared to the final margin of victory does have a bearing. What is failed to mention is East did play zone for over 3 quarters. Which makes the FT difference even that much larger a factor. In the end, Elliott got the ball to bounce their way in key situations, which determines the winner a lot of times in tight games with evenly matched teams. East has nothing to hang their heads about. A bounce here or there and the outcome could have went the other way. But the KEY stat to the whole game...... 27-10
  14. But your rounding went to 30 which is no where near the amount of seats saved. I don't remember it ever being utilized either but at least some have the courtesy to think about others. You're complaining over 15 seats in a gym that sits over 1,000 where there isn't a bad seat in the gym. The school officials aren't receiving a special treatment, I consider it being thoughtful to the ones who are responsible for allowing us to play this game tonight. I'm not trying to argue with you, I just think you're wrong.:thumb:
  15. The seats saved during the District Tournament is for ALL school officials in the district (Athletic Directors, Principals, Superintendents) and their families throughout the tournament. There are not 20-30 seats saved either. Other than 2 seats that have always been saved for Mr. Holbrook, there were 16 additional seats that are saved for the school officials and their families. Also I am sure it was taken into consideration that the reason for the seats being on the opposing side of the benches was so everyone wouldn't have to go around the chairs and scores table. As Jim Calhoun said the other day to the media, "Get your facts straight" I wouldn't think this would be a big deal to some......
  16. The KHSAA was sent the schedule and they were the ones that determined it WAS a tournament. East just sent schedules in to have records determined for them.
  17. Is there anything else we can do to accommodate Morgan County? I figured by now there would be some kind of reversal and the district tournament would be moved to West Liberty.
  18. Actually, just like everything else, the coin flipped had issues too. The coin was flipped and allowed to fall to the ground. However, it landed vertical on the leg of a table in the room. One rep suggested to move the table and allow it fall. The other representative asked to call KHSAA for a reversal. End result.......
  19. I don't know when the coin flip is, but to have that decided on what seed you get is in my opinion ridiculous. “I say we leave it in the hands of the kids,” Trusty said. This was a quote from the Ashland Daily Independent in today's paper. But yet, Coach Matthew Perry and AD Trusty want to have a coin flip to decide their fate? You do the math....
  20. Nothing wrong with Morgan looking out for the kids. They knew the intent of the point difference between teams. How can that be the other schools fault when Morgan wrote it down wrong. Every other school knew what was said. Morgan had the 1st tiebreaker taken away by the KHSAA(which was wrong because of intent the rule). Morgan has no idea what they want. First lets play it out, then when East wants to play, Morgan wants to flip a coin. Better check for a Morgan two sided coin because it seems they are getting whatever they want. Maybe Morgans AD has more pull??????
  21. But, when the new by-laws were written when Morgan Co. joined the district, wasn't the spirit of the tiebreaker-in regards to point differential, to be between the teams tied, whether or not it was 2, 3 or 4, and just uncorrectly written by Morgan Co. at the time (since they did host the first tournament in realigned district)? In an article in the ADI, Morgan Co. AD was quoted as saying, “I say we leave it in the hands of the kids,” Trusty said. But with everything that has taken place, how can that comment be justified. Point Differential tiebreaker allowed the kids to settle it on the floor, but was thrown out because of two team argument. Playing the rest of the games through the week would let the kids settle it, but was turned down by MC. And while not confirmed, a matchup between the tow teams would have let the players settled it, but was supposedly shot down. All this leads to a coin flip. And how does that allow it to be left in the hands of the kids?
  22. I didnt see any bragging within the post? Just stating facts that any knowledgable basketball observer could see. The Raiders are loaded with talent this year and have just got off to a slow start. It looks likes a few of the Raider Nation fan base has pushed the panic button a little too early
  23. It is so easy for the "bleacher coach/fan" to blame it on the coaching staff for a loss. Its always on the players if they win, coaches if they lose. After watching the first two rounds of the AIT, its apparent that the Raiders are suffering from a lack of leadership and execution. The number of unforced turnovers and hesitance on passing and wanting the basketball have cost the Raiders in their previous two games. The Raiders would greatly benefit for their guards to become more aggressive and involved in the offense, as well as their post players to become more aggressive as well and demand the basketball, instead of hiding behind the defense. There is no need for the panic and blame to be passed along so early in the season. A few more games and practices should allow for the Raiders and other teams with dissappointing starts to turn the season around. And to say the coach staff is to blame is ridiculous. Look at the success that Charles and Brandon have had in the past and then compare that to what you or many others have accomplished in the coaching ranks and see where that stacks up. The Raiders have one of the best coaching staffs in the area.
