I grew up in Ron Reed summer camps and I have tons of respect for him...I wish him nothing but the best and know he will give nothing short of 110% in this job. Good Luck Coach!

This year maybe another long one in Devil land. There is hope that some new players will come out in the new Kidwell era, but ofcourse, it's wait and see. I predict a more productive season than last, but this is still not a team that will compete for anything major, IMO. They will be well coached, though. Kidwell is a smart basketball guy who will get everything out of his guys, and young asst. coach Joe Bryan is a very savvy basketball mind. They've got good leadership no matter what.

That's a gutsy prediction isn't it? Just a question, but who will be the RB taking snaps...or what everyone else calls a QB?

Yes, she is a good kid and I hope she can make it this year without any setbacks. It's awful to see such a good player/person have so much trouble physically.

From what I have heard...and this is purely speculation...Russell is very high on Hughes and love her resume'...not sayin there are favorites...but I know she is up on the list. Bryan is not a contender for the job. He will be coaching with Kidwell.

I can name a lot more teams who were talented and failed than I could talent-less teams who did great things. Coach Kidwell is a good coach who knows a great deal about basketball. The Russell girls were lucky to have him and it has showed.

My input is that Coach Dodd is the leading candidate at Greenup with more than a handful of applicants...

Maybe Coach Suboticki should put in a resume?

Hatcher had applied at Russell as well so I'm told...and I agree with the Duckster that Dodd is the supposed lead candidate at Greenup...so who knows...I'm sure Fraley and Smith will be highly considered as well for GCHS...

I don't know if they love GC ball...well maybe Fraley...but why would they leave last year? Dodd was coming off 2 great years and Fraley had 2 D-1 guys on his team. When you're out of a job (or at least down on your luck in Fraley's case) you'll love just about anyone. How can you go wrong at Greenup? Can't do worse than the last 2 head coaches they've had, can you? So it's no wonder there is so much interest from any and all.

A new way to look at things. We always talk about who will get what job and why, but who do you think is the Best Coach on the market? (Note: Please use only varsity-experienced coaches-J.V. guys are unproven.)

Just in reference to the 29 pt. Smith win in the regular season and the Sutton 14 pt. win in the 1st round of the district: Don't you think Mr. March's team probably played a little better and with everything to lose in the district? Just that Sutton could get that game with the "pressure" and "circumstances" should speak volumes about his coaching abilities. He's underrated in this conversation as far as I'm concerned, although I do think Smith or Fraley would seem to be a good choice at GCHS.

Isn't it great to see potentially new bad blood in good rivalries?! I agree with you completely that new faces in new places could add some serious spice! Gotta love it!

Fact: Ward isn't coming back. Great coach, great success, but it just isn't in the cards people. Fact2:Greenup is in a rut and they haven't pulled the trigger on the right guy yet to coach that team. Not saying they've hired bad coaches, just bad fits. Until they find the right person for the job, it will be, as Steven Tyler sang, "Same old story, same old song and dance." The word on the street (at least my street) is that Dodd is the lead dog at this point, but there are quite a few applicants. Good Luck to all those!
