Blue Blazer Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Go Radio announced officially that Coach Kidwell was indeed the new boy's basketball coach at Russell. This leaves the girls job open. Who are the possible front runners to take this team?
mr wong Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Sam Sparks, Barnes, Hughs, Cassidy, Parsley, Chaffin, Jason Clark, Adkins, Bryan, and a host of names that will pop up.
Dan Tanna Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I think Dr. Michael Hunt would be a great choice. I believe his boys attend Russell now, and he certainly knows his basketball. He just led his AAU team to a state championship. He is a great guy, and I think he could pick up where Kidwell left off, and have great success at Russell.

Wow that is one interesting list, However I don't believe that Jason Clark is interested in the position. I don't even think he coaches basketball does he? I would think it will be a 3 horse race between Darell Adkins, Todd Parsley, and Phil Cassidy. Amy Hughs I believe from Chillicothe would be the possible outsider. I also look for Joe Bryan to join the boy's staff.
Dan Tanna Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 You need to do better detective work! What do you mean? Are you saying he didn't win an AAU state championship, or are you saying he's not a good coach?
spindoc Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I'm saying he has good players, plain and simple. And I have it on good authority that he's not interested. However, there is one name that I think is being left off completely and that is Scott Walters. He had success at Rose Hill. He was instrumental in molding the Terry and Queen girls who later were state runners-up. He has Russell ties and would be a great fit IMO.

You would think you would actually know his correct name if you're going to nominate him. It's Walter, not Walters, and what kind of ties does he have to Russell? Besides Queen and Terry developed on their own, he certainly doesn't deserve any of that credit. He's never had any head coaching experience, and he got out of coaching to spend time with his family anyway.

I don't know how you have "intimate" knowledge of what has gone on over at the RH girls program over the years. So your analysis falls on deaf ears, as does most outsider's analysis of the RH programs that they think they know so much about. Walter has family ties over at Russell thru the football program and would be welcomed over there. Walter(s) needs to get off his tush and apply.

"old"shooter Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Isn't Coach Dodd and Vanhoose still available?
Golfer Dad Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Isn't Coach Dodd and Vanhoose still available? That's a good one!!!:jump::creepy:

razor Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Don't forget Bill Renzi has been with the girls program for a long time.
