Russell Girls Opening!

Featured Replies

That part is true.

Let's hope that it is not the same person that has hired the last 2 Boys Basketball Coaches (excluding Kidwell).

GoRadio, I respect your opinion. I still believe when it is said and done that Cassity will be named the new girls coach. Just to let you know, the "A" person that I am referring to is not the final authority on the matter. You should try and PM me sometime before you jump to conclusions.

Have a great night,

Madeleine

Not jumping to conclusions. I know exactly who your "A" person is. I was just saying that ONE person makes the decision. He/She will have plenty of input from others, but, ultimately, ONE person makes the decision.

By the way, thanks for the compliment and I enjoy "most" of your posts as well!

However, that ONE person that makes the decision is occasionally ordered or prodded into handing down a decision that they don't agree with.:sssh:

"A" person and his minions can influence the final decision by that ONE person in some rare cases.

Don't have the answers. Only opinions that I want give.

Golfer, I know nothing about the Russell girls coaching job, don't have any interest in who is named coach or anything to do with it.

I just wanted to say that you should go into politics if you are not already. Your post describes any and every politician that we have heard.

Come to think of it, that sort of sums up my mother-in-law's stance as well.

:scared: Could Golfer Dad be my mother-in-law?:D

Amy Hughs 80-15

Phil Cassity 0-0

Todd Parsley 0-0

"A" person may have a reason for wanting Amy. Russell would never hire a boy's basketball coach with no varsity experence. Treat the girls the same.

So, your point is that Ms. Hughes has blown 15 games while Cassity and Parsley remain undefeated?;)

She is certainly a high caliber applicant!

Which Chaffin? And who is Adkins?

Anna Chaffin was the previous girl's coach and Daryll Adkins was Merle's Ast Coach.

If Anna has applied, she is a great person and I am sure she would be highly considered due to the excellent job she did before.

I don't think either one of these will be considered. I thought Adkins was the statistician for Kidwell. Anyway, best of luck to both of these applicants.

 Even oldrambler ain't going there . That would be a matter between you, your wife, mother in law and possibly golfer. I don't know. Good luck. :D

If that is the case, maybe that ONE person needs to find another job! I don't think a quality administrator can be "prodded", "ordered" or "influenced" into making a hire that they don't agree with. Maybe "A" person has seemingly (in your opinion) wronged you or one of your friends in the past and you see things through slightly (or not so slightly) tinted glasses.

This sounds like there is alot of division at Russell. Russell has always had a quality girls athletic program. The administration has done some things right to keep it at the level that it has sustained. I sure "A" person who I have no clue is can influence "ONE" who I have no clue is other to ASSUME you are taliking about the principal and athletic director. My guess is that these two guys are smart enough to sit down weigh out the options and hire the BEST coach for the girls. Last time I checked the Russell Athletic Department has been doing a very good job competing in the 16th and statewide.

I think Cassidty would do a nice job with the girls and he seems to have a real passion to coach them and build the program's numbers up as well!

The program's numbers are down for several reasons. The Freshwomen and Middle School Girls have been over looked, under developed for some time now. If Cassity becomes the next "Skipper" of the Lady Devils he will be cleaning up a mess that has been there for the last couple of years. That mess is not a reflection of the young ladies or lack of them. With all due respect when are schools going to start electing to place people into these coaching positions that have atleast played the game before and has the compacity to teach under developed kids how to play the game. This post is not a derogatory attack on Russell but all schools that fall into this political trap.

I dont have a dog in the fight but I will give my opinion anyway. I think Amy Hughes would do a great job. She has experiance and after talking with her the other day she has some great ideas for the team. You never know a new face in the program may help. I believe the girls would really learn a lot from her and enjoy being around her.

You are right about Amy Hughes being a good coach and having some good ideas. Maybe you can get her to be the head coach at Ashland in a few years after Bradley retires and you should apply as her assistant.:thumb:

I want to clarify some points on my previous post. The Middle school and Freshwomen teams are a result of their feeder system. It would do Kidwell and Cassity both a world of good to start having a major role in what goes on in the MMYBL.

Couldn't agree more. It's necessary at every school, in nearly every sport.
