Anyone hearing anything on who is the front runner for this job? Will Younce hire someone before he retires? Sutton? Smith? Ward? ( I think Ward is a fun twist to add to this.)

Be interesting to see who applies, I would say a lot people might be interested in situation was better. But those 3 possible candidates you listed are all good choices in my book, but I can't see Ward as a candidate.

Without a doubt Go it would be amazing to see him walk the sidelines, but I think that he is quite happy at Coal Grove. There would have to be a major shakeup at GC for The General to return, but as they say anything can happen. I would look for Jason Smith to be the next coach. From what I know Sutton is looking for a way out at GC and who's to blame him.

I agree 100% the 16th already has to much slow down ball. Let the kids play, it can be structured & not be stall ball.

Ward did the one thing that all good coaches do and that is play to your strengths and give your kids a chance to win. GC has always had big inside players and fewer dominate guards. Look at Ward's rosters at GC dominated by big and bruising post players. Venture over the river at Coal Grove and you'll see a much different brand of basketball with Ward's Hornets, they play a high pressured 1-3-1 zone, they are guard dominated, and play a quicker paced game. You coach to your strengths that's the bottom line. But, this is a discussion on who'll be the next coach at GC so lets get back on topic.

I must disagree, the 93 team played with 6'7" Cole Indestead and 4 guards, two or three of them could jump out of the gym and all of them could run and we still played "fist, flex, old way, new way and it all boiled down to same way, SLOW. Thats why Russell beat them in the first round of the District, that team should have been 20 points better than Russell.

Totally agree, in 93 Haywood was one of the best athletes to come through that school, but noone will ever know or remember that unless you played with him at the South Shore Rotary Park.

You got that right and I might add it would be a good idea for them to already have another job lined up for a year , maybe two later. :sssh::lol:
