One good thing is Seth Perry has been coming to open gym. Hopefully GCHS can developed a inside out game. They have a couple pretty good 3 point shooters in Middleton & Adkins, but the team overall speed maybe just average.

This past Friday night Wburg passed the ball alot. They couldn't get anything going on the ground. Portsmouth beat them with about 10 seconds on the clock. Bad quaterback and center exchange. 27-20

Not much help. Their bodies need some weight and muscles. They may help on JV, but no impact on Varsity this year give them a couple of years.:thumb:

Does the Boyd Co football team have very many baseball players on its roster other Gatlin Barker?

I heard over the weekend they got Mahan and Newberry back to play. Should be a great help to them.

Greenup county has a couple of fall teams or they have enough to fill two teams. According to their schedule they play Lewis,East Carter,Ashland,Fairview,Boyd,Lawerence, Huntington High, & Westwood. Greenup has quite a few players out for Fall ball around 20-25 kids.

I think if Greenup receivers can hold on to the football, Russell's secondary will be tested. GC running backs are better than most people give them credit. It all starts will the offensive line.

GCHS starting five will look alot different IMO. Several boys not playing summer basketball which includes several players who could/will start for the varsity. Don't everybody know that summer is for Basball. GCHS will be hurt if Craft and Perry don't play. Look for a losing season. Even though GCHS JV team had very few loses last year.

Martin is a sophomore.

Greenup better hit the ball a little better next game or they will go home for the rest of the season. Lewis Co' pitcher was very hittable.

Smith and Sutton will be on new staff.

Greenup County will strong for next four years. You will not be able to look over look them.

I also like that comment. Amen My son meet him last week and he also thought that he was very positive and talked about his offense running and gunning.

Russell High School baseball Coach was upset with the all star teams having too many non-russell players. Coach told players not to play there in 2007. Also South Shore and Raceland have their own leagues this year. I believe there still might be one team from Greenup County play there this year.

Do Tell! Last week I heard Hicks will be back due to lawsuit. Open and closed case. No question about it. Hard for me to beieve that though.

Any news of late who will be GCHS Head Coach in 07-08 season? Or is everything on hold till verdict of Hicks vs Hicks lawsuit. :laugh: LOL

The AD of GCHS son in law was head coach of Rock Hill BB Team 05-06 season. Now he is a vice prinicipal at GCHS. Also GCHS AD has resigned and his job is posted.

Did anything come out of Greenup County Board Meeting this week. I heard that BB open gym will start at GCHS after spring break. Also heard Hicks and a Raceland coach got shot down trying to have a AAU team this summer using Raceland New Gym by Raceland Board of Education. Can anybody confirm this? Everybody a little gunshy:flame:

I heard a insider say about week ago they are kicking around the idea GC BB job couple with also being the school AD. Meaning you can pay the coach more money than normally if he is AD also. Also heard at that game Joe Hampton name mention a few times. This was a week ago at GCHS when they were playing East Carter. I am sure they will get Coach Sutton a hard look also. He is well liked by BB kids' Parents. Hard to judge him with everything that when on this season.

GCHS baseball has a new Head Coach Greg Logan. I heard they have added couple of new pitchers to the program. One of the new arms is throwing in the mid 80's the other one is hitting 80 on the gun. If the new arms can control the strike zone should be a interesting season.:fight: The team has about 4 or 5 seniors, relativly young team. Aaron McGlone 1996 Mr. KY baseball Player/ Former GCHS Head coach had job commitments which lead to resign the coaching job.

I actually don't know if there is anything about Coach Ward on JJ huddle. Probably just sour grapes about a couple of GC players coming over to Portsmouth Clay and knocking out a couple of Clay players of starting line up. Right or Wrong the two GC players helped them win some games last year. I didn't hear them complaining as much when they were winning with Cam.:irked:

GC should be fine for the next five years for talent. If GC coaching staff can bring them together as a team. Not let see "how many points I made this game".
