  1. There's been several mentioned as top players in region but how many of those have what it takes to go to next level. It's very hard to be a student /athlete in any level of college . Hope to see several go on to play on the college level. Best advice to all of them is to work hard in classroom as well as on the field. Hope they all have a great season.

Probably the best hands in the region since Chicago White Sox draftee Dustin Shafer from Russell. Peyton is aqn exciting player to watch and he makes his team mates better. Not sure he's in the same league as Shafer was , Shafer could do it all , hitting, fielding and what a arm , but is a real good player . Logan from Greenup is another that should be considered for player of year but saying that , there's several that could be added to that list. kstcu has a nice list of area players that any coach would like to have. Looking foreward to seeing and reading about them this season.
  3. I'm surprised that their isn't more names mentioned on here. Is that all of the talent in the 16th region? If so , it's not going to be a very good year for area teams. List some and what school they play for so we can follow their upcoming season.
  4. Does anyone know if they've started working on the field yet?
  5. Who are some of the best players in the 16 th. region this year. I've heard some say Martin from Raceland is one , but what others should be added to that list.
  6. Most scouts say that 4.0-4.1 is excellent from home to first , not many run under that. That is from the left side , which Martin hits from. The fastest runner that I've seen in a long time is Tolliver, now at Transy, he runs at a different speed than most. You could see the difference when he ran from others. Not sure Martin is in that class when it comes to speed but still a good player.
  7. "Peyton Martin is probably the fastest player in the 16th region. If there is one faster I`d like to know where. Peyton is 3.8 from home to first and runs the 60 in 6.8." I wasn't aware he had speed that Thomas Tolliver ( former Raceland player) had there? Very few have under 7.0 like few pitchers throw in the 90's . Great kid , hope he does well this year.
  8. I would always want to attend a Wildcat game. Any true fan would! Go Cats!
  9. The field needs a lot of work done on it, one of the worst infields anywhere. The park needs to know how to take care a baseball field ,it's more than cutting the grass or marking the lines . One of the best to watch a game . Hope they do it right.
  10. Ask any player or student at Ashland and they will say they like Coach Hart. Only some players or parents that isn't getting the playing time they think they deserve or not ,will say something against him. Coach Hart is a very good coach, just going through a hard time with an inexperienced team.
  11. Does your high school have a fall team or are players playing on a mixed team or none at all. What kind of schedule are they playing?
  12. From what I have heard , Coach Hagen is a great coach but very demanding, with very long practices, which are intense. Not much baseball money either at a expensive school which has pretty tough academics as well.
  13. Fairview practices on theirs as well. Not the best for a baseball field.
  14. Most fields around here get nothing done to them. Several fields have the football teams practicing on them. Boyd County's is one of a few, in this area ,that is well taken care of all year long. Those that do have their football teams practicing on them are in terrible shape when spring comes.
