Covington Catholic 5 Franklin County 4

This was a very well played game to a degree, FC left numerous runners on the bases, FC really had no trouble getting the runners on, just different things took place that kept them from scoring, more to FC doing than CC, but CC did make the plays that were needed. -
Frankfort High looking for a new coach

Not surprising, you don't have the numbers to win there. -

Thompson threw a very good game, CC had to bunt quite often to put the bat on the ball, had a very hard time catching up with Sean's fastball. Pitched a awfully strong game. -
Tagged out by 9:30, not a lot of gobbling, they came in silent and beat up on my decoys and that woke me up to the Toms, made a good shot, I was looking for a little interaction with them, called a couple of times but got no response, it was a beautiful morning and I got my birds.

I would have to agree, the slot has really helped.

Preston Knowles-Player of the game

He really plays defense the way you like to see it played. Always been a favorite player of mine. -
How did the hitting go for CC? Sounds like they must have hit very well, how did DC do in this game?

Central's band and pep section
Hard Court replied to All In's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
It was great to see Central back and go so far in the tournament, their band and dancers are bomb, and I mean bomb in a very good way. Bibby did a great job, I don't think anyone expected them to go so far. I would say the band and dancers carried their share of the load. -
Anderson County vs. Elliott County

Penny will need a monster game, team play great defense, and AC must get the lead and control the tempo, they might have a chance. -
I think the Lady Flyers pull it out in a close one.

A crying shame. I feel awful as I am sure many Flyer fans are, but the fellows had a great season, and I hate to see it end. These are a great group of guys, they just couldn't get it going tonight. -

Russ Day coached there for about 2-3 years while it was a prep school. -

Some very questionable calls during the first half, but late in the second quarter FC seemed to start finding their groove. The Flyer bench was probably the big difference when three or four starters were out of the game with foul trouble. The Flyer defense and the OAK TREE was too much for the Cards. I was impressed with Zollo, he plays very hard. The Flyers have yet to play their best game. -

I will give FC the edge, I think FC will win the rebound battle, this in part to the pressure that will be put on the GRC shooters, it should be one of the best games of the season. This is a test I feel FC will be ready for. -

Never seen Zollo but have heard good things about him, how is his quickness, if taken away from the post on defense can he guard a smaller quicker player? -
George Rogers Clark vs Franklin County 2/17

It should be a really good hard fought game, one question, how is Rogers, and will he have a chance to return during the tournament? I was looking foward to seeing how close in comparison he is to one of GRC's fine past player's Lynn Hopewell. Hope he will be okay. -

Very interesting match ups. These seem to be pretty even until we get to the bench play, I feel without Rogers, FC could get the edge with their OAK TREE, FC by 5. -
Free Throws: A Lost Art???
Hard Court replied to B-Ball-fan's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I think its mental and repetition, maybe not enough focus is placed on free throws like it should be, but FC's Meyer has to be one of the best, he has good focus and form. -
I am liking Franklin County's Ryan Conner to have a very good year, currently in basketball, well kept secret, 6'6 with above average speed and good power.

I would have to agree that SC should be the clear favorite in terms of their overall record and talent, but if you look past the next opponent you could have problems, as could any team, SC will have to bring it if they want it. -
Did you think about Tachibana's? The food there has been very good, haven't been there for quite some time, but was a very nice place.
