cch5432
So I was looking at something and remembered at old poster named Three Lions, which reminded me of MMI. First of all, what and where was MMI, exactly? Second of all, what happened to all the kids who went there? Thirdly, where is Three Lions?
AHSPanther23
Millersburg Military Institute, located in Millersburg, KY north of Paris. It was an old military school that closed in 2003 I think. A group in Pennsylvania bought it and intended to turn it into a prep school, which is supposed to happen in a few years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millersburg_Military_Institute

leatherneck
Thanks. So what is sitting on those 30-acres now? U.S. Army Cadet Corps headquarters? I think that's what the sign currently in front of the building says.
B-Ball-fan
Thanks. So what is sitting on those 30-acres now? U.S. Army Cadet Corps headquarters? I think it's a secret high security government storage place for UFO crash wreckage. :sssh: But don't tell anybody :sssh:
B-Ball-fan
Didn't the school in recent years try to be a Sports-Prep kind of school that was trying to attract college bound players? Not equal to, but kind of like Oak Hill? :idunno:

Not equal to, but kind of like Oak Hill? :idunno: It was a prep school I believe. Bryan Turnage of HC went there after his high school career ended. He was a very nice player. They also had some 7footers from another country. Believed they played schools like Harmony Prep.
Hard Court
Russ Day coached there for about 2-3 years while it was a prep school.

NEERFAN
My father played for MMI back in '56. We used to attend the Sweet 16 every year, and we always checked out of our hotel prior to the semi's so we always had a bunch of time to kill before the final game. One year he took me to his former school, the door to the gymnasium was open, we walked in and a ball was present. We proceeded to play some horse. It was a very neat moment for me, and I'm sure it brought back some memories for him.

Jim Schue
So I was looking at something and remembered at old poster named Three Lions, which reminded me of MMI. First of all, what and where was MMI, exactly? Second of all, what happened to all the kids who went there? Thirdly, where is Three Lions? 3L still lives and works in the Paris/Bourbon Co. area. I see him from time to time.
