  1. Coach Ledford has been the defensive co. at FCHS for 5 seasons as well as the OL/DL coach. He also coached at Rowan Co & Lawrence Co. He played college ball at Morehead. Good luck to coach Ledford and the Flyers.
  2. Great job Larry. Larry was a real team player and hard worker...glad to see he has been rewarded.
  3. I'm not familer with some of these guys. I know Graham, Ledford and Thacker but who is Jerry Perry, Johnny Poynter & Chris Tracy? Thanks
  4. I get my information by being up at the school during football season 4 days a week trying to help get things ready for Friday nights. I agree with you 100% that the principal should be supporting the program because of the revenue the games bring in but she has fought everything we and coach Walker have tried to do for the past 3 years. If you want to find out about all the things they have done all you have to do is talk to any parent that has a kid playing. I'm sure they would be more than glad to go over it with you. A few off the top of my head, cut a ditch across the practice field two days before spring ball started after telling him they would go around, won't mow the field, fertilize, aerate or do any maintenance on the practice field, field house or any facilities. Lets other clubs sell football merchandise at the football games cutting into the booster club revenue that is used to help the football team. I could go on and on but I guess it would just be whining. Talk to anyone that has a kid playing sports other than basketball at FC and you will find out real quick what I'm talking about. And believe me buddy I've done more than my share of fundraising and donating things to the program because the school has no interest in doing their job.
  5. This administration is so incompetent we'll be lucky to have a coach by next season much less a good one. If it wasn't for this administration I believe coach Walker would still be at FC today. There is ZERO support from the school for sports of any kind. :madman:
  6. Congrats big Nate and also congrats to line coach Ledford. Nate is a great kid and deserves this offer and hopefully many more.
  7. What a game!! Ben Revere is the fastest high school player I've ever seen. The kid is a one man wrecking crew but had a huge drop with about 4 min to go in the game. The linebackers for CCH were awesome and could really cover some ground. I think the difference was the way CCH could run the ball. Lex Cath had no answer for their run game but almost outscored them anyway. Congrats to both teams and good luck to CCH the rest of the way. Talked to a guy at the game that has seen Johnson Central play a couple of times this year and after the 2nd quarter he didn't believe they could play with either team. I guess we will find out next Friday night. I sure got my 6 dollars worth.
  8. Gonna have to find a new buddy. Sounds like he wimped out on me. I've never been to nippert so i had no idea what it was like.
  9. I've been wanting to see St X play for awhile but my buddy that lives up there and went to St X won't go to Nippert at night. Is it really that bad? I'm going to cov cath - Lex Cath or Male - Trinity. Good luck to all the teams still playing.
  10. OK knightsdad if you're so knowledeable please explain to us poor average fans how the rules can be changed during a game. I'm all ears.
  11. FC was not yelling snapcounts while LC was on offense. FC has been doing this all season with the LB yelling shift or move and the D-line shifting right or left. They did it the entire first half of this game and the Lex Cath line jumped a half dozen times. But for some reason after halftime the officials decided FC couldn't do this anymore. The first time FC did it in the second half they were flagged. Not sure how it can be legal all season and all through the first half then all the sudden it's no longer legal. If they had been yelling snap counts you would think they would have been flagged in the first half or at least once during the season. It's a real mystery????????? LC had 11 flags for 55 yards. Almost all were for motion and I think one pass interference. FC had 4 and all came in the third quarter and helped LC continue a drive and get back in the game. I hope FC takes the same stand as the Lexington schools have and only plays LC if they have too. Good luck CCH
  12. I've not seen CCH play this year but know they must have an awesome team to have beaten HHS twice in a few weeks. The Lex Cath O-Line and D-Line is average. Franklin whipped them the entire first half on both sides of the ball and was mostly taken out of the game in the second half with Lex Cath spreading everyone out from sideline to sideline. CCH better not underestimate the Lex Cath receivers or they will be in for a long night. Burbage was good but Caldwell, Guy & Revere are as good or better. I've seen a lot of high school football players and have never seen a player as fast as Revere. The running back Israel is good but didn't have many holes to run through Friday. The QB is solid and doesn't make many mistakes. I don't think they are as good as last year because of the QB play and the defense is not as good as they were at the end of last season. Revere is a shut down corner but the other side is very weak. Lex Cath is not that complicated offensively they get the ball to their play-makers in space and let them make plays. And they have great play-makers. Their kick return and punt return are probably better than anyone in the state. Having said all that I look for CCH to be able to shut them down except for maybe a few big plays and make enough plays on offense to win a close one. One other thing....CCH won't get a call all night.
  13. Rickety bleachers, too much mud, unfair officiating.....WOW is this the same Danville team that's won 50 state titles. I watched the last game a couple of times on local cable and I have to agree that Danville looked very average. The first game wasn't as close as the final score and last time I checked EJ Fields still plays for Frankfort. I like the Panthers to win going away. Of course first time I picked Danville to win by 30.
  14. The thing about playing Lex Cath is you can't make any mistakes. Their skill kids are as good as any in the state. One bad angle, missed takle, poor punt etc and it's six points. Last game the difference was a returned punt and kick for scores.
  15. Good luck next week. It would be nice to see a new team in Louisville this year. First step is next Friday night.
  16. Great win for the Flyers. They played with emotion and played a physical ball game. Two things they didn't do last time these teams played. They'll need to play the same way to have a chance against Lex Cath on Friday.
  17. I don't see anyone challenging the birds till they get to Louisville and I'm not sure BG can play with them either. Highlands 28 CC 10. Glad to see both teams moving to 5A next year.
  18. FC needs to jump out early and get the lead...make HC play from behind. The longer HC hangs in and keeps it close the better chance they have of pulling the upset. Coach Graham always does a good job at HC and his teams are always physical and hit hard. Rain and field conditions could be a big factor and of course dropped passes have plauged the Flyers all season. I think FC comes to play this week and wins 34-14.
  19. I saw the highlights on the news and couldn't believe the condition of that field. Was it that way from the start or did two running teams just wear it out? Big win for East and a nice turn around from last season.
  20. Great job Panthers. Save me a piece of that crow, deep fried with gravey. Now Frankfort has to stay focused and do it again in a few weeks. The Fields kid is a great kid and when he gets the corner I don't care what team is chasing him they ain't gonna catch him.
  21. I like Daville by a bunch in this one. The Ads are a balanced team with a better OL/DL. Speed in the skill positions is a wash. If Danville jumps to an early lead this could get ugly fast. Hope I'm wrong and Frankfort pulls the upset. Danville 49 Frankfort 14
  22. This is the FC team that I saw against Somerset and Lex Cath. Other than special teams everything was clicking pretty good. Western Hills didn't put up much of a fight to be playing their cross town rivals. Hills freshman QB throws a nice ball when not running for his life.
  23. Where is the game being played? I'll stick with X. I can't remember the last time someone beat X besides Trinity and I doubt it will happen this weekend.
