Having seen Russell and Belfry and hearing about Mercer, I would have to agree here. I believe that Mercer and Belfry are ahead of Russell.

No doubt. This Tomcat team has definitely showed alot of their weaknesses in this first part of the season. I have never liked open dates but maybe this one comes at a time when the Cats can work out their problems and overcome some of their bumps and bruises. But as GIAT stated, there won't be a game Friday and that will be tough for me, but maybe the misses will like it.

Here's hoping the players injuries aren't serious. This game went just as I expected. Johnson Central should roll thru their schedule this year with this dominating play.

Unfortunately I felt I could see this coming. Sometimes a game like this truly is a blessing in disguise. The Rams will bounce back though.

I felt like Ashland didn't play very well although Thomas did put up some more good numbers and the Cats IMO controlled this game for the most part of the game . The Ashland passing attack was practically non-existant along with the passing defense. Just a sloppy performance all around although it was a win.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank LRCW for his hospitality for providing the transportation to and from the game for me and the family. I don't think I could smell anything on that superstitious t-shirt others have been talking about, although my sinuses were acting up and I couldn't smell anything and no one else wanted to sit up front with him. :sssh:

This game is the first district game for these teams and with the way things are going, it is going to be a loooooooooooong night for the home team. The Eagles win by 4 touchdowns. 35-7.

I believe Wheelersburg will roll in this game, as BC just doesn't have the horses right now, winning by 3 touchdowns.

Not really sure the meaning of this topic. I'm sure all Ashland fans had question marks after that first game as any person of any other program would have when you have high expectations going into a season. The point now is that the Cats have righted their ship. The backs are running hard and gaining big yards as the big Ashland line is starting to jell as a unit and opening some big holes. The big names are starting to make big plays on offense and defense. It is good to see these young kids gaining some confidence in what they can do and if they keep improving and gain a few brakes along the way then the sky's the limit for this team. Here's hoping they have a successful season.

I look for Ashland to have a breakout game. All cylinders clicking in a total dismantling of Prestonsburg.

Those guys up front rarely get the recognition they deserve. :thumb:

Great stats but on how many carries did they have? It appears the Ashland Hart Air Attack is being grounded.

Tough loss for the Lions and their coaching staff against a rival and quality opponent. Hope Coach Evans is given enough time from the BC faithful to lead this program in the right direction.

Paintsville has been a solid respected program for years and has competed against all classes of competitors with success. Some years have bad thru the years but Johnson Central's success has only been recent but they unfortunately have been the butt of jokes over the years and as early as last year with their early playoff exit. With their continued success they may earn some statewide respect they have long desired for.

Ashland is coming off two solid wins. But in order to win consistently they must knock off alot of the unforced errors. I don't know much about this southern Ohio team, but by the way Ashland handled them last year I'm sure they will be ready for this game and the Cats must be able to keep up their emotion after 2 extra period games. I do look for the Tomcats to keep their winning streak alive.

And it was in good shape today for all of the junior league football players. If this game would have been played on Friday I think today's games would not have happened.

:thumb: It sounded like the O-line looked good tonight , so it would be bad to throw another injury back in. Maybe they are growing up.

What type of injury did he have? He came back later so it must not have been serious, I assume?

I felt like Ashland was greatly underestimated by alot of people after their season opening loss to Raceland. But they have improved and found themselves lately. This could be a lot tougher team late in the season if their improvement progresses.
