InTheLoop Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I may have overlooked some threads, but I haven't seen any topics on Paintsville football. Where are you guys at? Anyone know?
westsider Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 The Paintsville precinct has been much quieter this season.
Jim Schue Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Either everybody's membership expired at the same time, or they all jumped on the Johnson Central bandwagon.
RNCSportsaholic Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Either everybody's membership expired at the same time, or they all jumped on the Johnson Central bandwagon. I don't know about the memberships, but I doubt we've jumped on the Matney Express.

Other than the Fairview game, Loss 28-14, there hasn't been much to talk about so far. Wins over Allen Central and Jenkins aren't exactly topics of great substance.
dolamite Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Either everybody's membership expired at the same time, or they all jumped on the Johnson Central bandwagon. Id take B instead of A. I'm sure when basketball/baseball season rolls around we'll see the ole' Tiger faithful back on the prowl.
xyience Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Either everybody's membership expired at the same time, or they all jumped on the Johnson Central bandwagon. The rivalry between Johnson Central and Paintsville is historic. With the 2 straight losses to JC in the apple bowl Johnson Central knows that they have a better football program than Paintsville now. Although the records and teams history doesnt show that, the blue and white knows it true. When these 2 teams play for the apple barrel, the atmosphere in both schools and Johnson County change, just for that week. After the game, the fans and players are friends again. Both schools want each other to have post-season success. Now as far as anybody from Paintsville jumping on the JC bandwagon, stranger things have happened.
Matilda Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Either everybody's membership expired at the same time, or they all jumped on the Johnson Central bandwagon. I know for a fact we did not Jump on the Matney express. No way No can do . We will never do that!!!!! GO BIG BLUE

JC Alumni 76 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Johnson Central will never jump on the Paintsville bandwagon. There is no reason why any JC fans would do that. Ever since the arrival of Matney the Paintsville program has started to slip. And alot of that is credited to the statement that you made above. Before P-ville was always competitive and alot of times beat JC in the Apple Bowl but since Matneys arrival the tables have turned. The combined score of the last to Apple Bowls is 98-12 JC. Now not to many county kids are interested in being beaten like that so i think that why your seeing alot more of the county's kids stay in the JC program instead of going to P-ville. Some still choose to but not to the extent they used to.
Pancake Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 What is the Apple Bowl record between the two teams. I know my three years at JCHS we went 1-2 vs. P-ville.

oneijoe Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Johnson Central will never jump on the Paintsville bandwagon. There is no reason why any JC fans would do that. To the contrary... before Central's recent success and excepting Coach Musick's good teams, there were probably more out-in-Johnson Countians behind the Tigers as within-town Paintsvillians... I wouldn't have said anything, but this "Paintsville is jumping on Central's bandwagon" stuff needs to have a little historical perspective shed on it... I wish nothing but the best for Johnson Central, but comparatively speaking, the Eagles are the newcomers to GOOD Johnson Co. football. :bunny:
oldrambler Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I ddon't know about the Paintsville fans but I will promise that the Paintsville teams will be heard from in all sports. Paintsville has a very strong tradition and programs.
