Bengals Playoff Tickets
RNCSportsaholic replied to Blue Magic's topic in National Football League (NFL)
I just got a ticket for the game for FREE from a buddy of mine. This will be my first NFL game so I am pretty excited about going even though it is going to be freezing. Any suggestions for local bars after the game? -
Roy Williams has heckling fan tossed
RNCSportsaholic replied to The Scribe's topic in College Basketball
Obviously the fan was saying some nasty things or Coach Williams would have not had him ejected. Think about it guys. UNC has been heckled in the past, this guy just crossed a line. I remember when JJ had some very nasty things yelled at him during games and I wish something would have been done about that, also. I am sure Duke fans will have a field day with this but it will be clean fun and Coach Williams will not have a problem with it. -
Just make some free throws :ohbrother:

I think there is going to one heck of a battle in the paint on Satrurday. Patterson vs. Thompson and Cousins vs. Davis. I think the big game experience UNC has gained this year will pull it out for them. Also I expect Ginyard to guard Wall more than Drew II, does anyone else agree with this? I am not saying Ginyard will shut him down but I think he is the best defender Wall has faced so far this year. I just can not get over how much talent UNC lost last year and they are even ranked, and not just ranked but pretty darn good. Lawson, Ellington, Green, and that one guy who is all time leading scorer in ACC history (I forget his name) Roy Williams is very good.

I really do not understand the logic of Matney not wanting to trade film. Its not like his offense is a complex system. It would seem to hurt his team more than help. I team could watch a game film of JC from 2005-2008 and get a great look at what they will see in 2009. Not much has changed, belly right, belly left, a couple of broken bone sets with two back power sweeps, and a play action pass about twice a month. -
I doubt they will get embarrassed by anyone in the country. Of course they could lose to anyone they play but I think they have one of the top 5 coaches in the nation and he would have them better prepared than the other team. Boise State has won some close games in the past during the regular season and still preformed very well on the national stage. The key is they won. I am sure those young men feel a little bit of pressure knowing they must win every single game to even have a shot of a BCS birth.

QB controversy at Johnson Central?
RNCSportsaholic replied to LRCW's topic in KY Football (High School)
I know that Nathan Dillon RB/OLB #10 quit the team. Sounds like the plane has crashed into the mountain. I am a Paintsville fan, but I have always supported Johnson Central and wish them well. Hopefully, they can get things turned around, but it looks like it will be a long season. What district do they pair up with in the playoffs this year? -

The kid basically wanted to remain a walk-on and sit at the end of the bench and the coach said no thanks. If you had a kid in this type of situation, you would not encourage them to appeal?

Does he have to sit out a year?

Coach Calipari Apologizes to Landon Slone
RNCSportsaholic replied to Wireman's topic in College Basketball
....and were on scholarship and not true freshmen. I understand why he was cut, don't get me wrong, I hoping they would have room for him since he was a walk-on. If Landon were on scholarship,I would completely understand and there would be no questions asked. -

He was upset about not getting to practice with the team. You have to understand that Landon knew that playing time was going to be extremely limited. -

I think his numbers were quite respectable for a true freshman walk-on, but I understand your point. -

I'm not sure why you are hating on a walk-on but ok....anyways I have stated on here before that I am a UNC fan and the only reason I watched UK last season was to see when and if Landon would get in the game. Would have Slone been the deciding factor in a final four run, heck no, but he was the deciding factor in rather or not I watched the games. Even with me being a homer, I still understand that Landon was overmatched, but what freshman walk-ons aren't? Their role on a team is different than the rest, and I just felt like Landon was filling that role nicely.
