I really do not understand the logic of Matney not wanting to trade film. Its not like his offense is a complex system. It would seem to hurt his team more than help. I team could watch a game film of JC from 2005-2008 and get a great look at what they will see in 2009. Not much has changed, belly right, belly left, a couple of broken bone sets with two back power sweeps, and a play action pass about twice a month.

I know that Nathan Dillon RB/OLB #10 quit the team. Sounds like the plane has crashed into the mountain. I am a Paintsville fan, but I have always supported Johnson Central and wish them well. Hopefully, they can get things turned around, but it looks like it will be a long season. What district do they pair up with in the playoffs this year?

Tigers pick up another quality win tonight against the Dawgs. Corey Adams of Paintsville hit a 3 run home run for the Tigers. Sheppard pitched for Lawrence County and Seth Alex Rice and Austin Lyons threw for Paintsville.

15th region has done well over the past 2 years with Paintsville going to the final 4 in the All A and 2nd round of the Sweet 16 last year, and Valley winning the All A this year and winning their first game in the Sweet 16 ! Keep representing the mountains well Wildcats!

I understand what everyone is saying, the officals need room to work, I get that part. What I don't understand is why 2 coaches can not be in the coaching box. OC or DC and the head coach? I think everyone else should be forced to stay back, but not allowing any coaches within 6 feet of the field is going to cause more delay of games, illegal subs, and basically make the game drag out longer than it should. I may be wrong but I think by not allowing coaches in the box will cause more problems than it will defeat. It's just my opinion.

Offense- mostly double tight-Power I, belly, power, ect...think of Chuke Williams, Matney, or Haywood type offense. Defense- mostly 4-4 base with cover 3 and man mixed in.

I won't go into any details on here but things happened on and off the field that lead to this firing. The 7-6 record was just a small piece of the puzzle.

Guys, come on. You are a 5A school, worry about Highlands, Cov Cath, ect. I am a Paintsville fan and I am telling you, you have bigger fish to fry. Move on, its over. You get nothing out of beating us in terms of helping your program improve.

Oh Godness...some of you all are acting like children...I am a Paintsville fan always have and always will be...I played in this series and it was fun, but I always looked forward to the Pikeville game more so than the Apple Bowl. When JCHS played Highlands this year I sat in the reserved seats and cheered for Central and yelled and screamed with all the other Eagle faithful, however, a few of these comments makes me question my decision to do so. Why are so many bitter about this? The game is not competitive anymore. Central is on the level they should have been at several, several years ago. I am happy for them. So go ahead and continue to take pride in the fact that a Class A school does not want to play you anymore, does that really help you all sleep at night?

Not this Paintsville fan. I went to JCHS and got my tickets Monday morning, very friendly people and was actually met by Coach Matney and we talked about the game for a few minutes. I will be pulling for Johnson Central this week. Good luck Eagles!

I am not a JCHS fan but I am from Paintsville. A couple of people want to compare JCHS '06 to this years team and I would give a slight edge to '06 because of Matt Tackett and Blake Johnson those guys were two really good high school LB's. Johnson was a great full back as well and if he had stayed healthy JCHS may have a state title already under their belts. However, I think this years JCHS has a better O-line and larger running backs. JCHS is not slow. They don't have any 4.4 guys but overall they have enough team speed to get by. Of course Cov. Cath is going to stack the box, but JCHS will still run the belly,lead, drive, toss, and play action once every third game HAHA. I think JCHS is putting their kids in the best situation to win with the personel they have this year, what more could you ask out of a coach?

Not everyone. As for this game, JCHS should win. Too much talent up front for Ashland to pull this one out. I expect a somewhat low scoring game since both teams like to grind it out. JCHS-28 ASHLAND-14

Just to play along with you guys.... Paintsville- Raceland does not respect you, they booked us for homecoming for God's sake. They probably didn't even watch a minute of film. They are 6-0 and are #2 in Class A and picked a sure win (in their minds) for homecoming. FYI- I do not believe any of this. :lol:

I think heard somewhere that Paintsville owns the overall series record can anyone confirm this? :jump: Also, good job Rams fans for not allowing your players to over look the Tigers. I hope Paintsville comes into this game prepared even though they play for the district championship next week versus Pikeville. This is a great chance for the Tigers to prove that they can compete in Class A and get their new head coach a great signature win. Good luck both teams!

This is a great chance for Paintsville to see where they stack up against the great 1A schools. One thing is for sure, the Tigers must play a great game on defense to even think about being in this one after half time. Paintsville's line must grow up if they want to compete at this level.

Series is now at 20-15 in favor of Paintsville. JC is just that good, very strong and physical.

I'm sure it would be hard for him since its not his natural position. Slone is a 2, not a 1 but I am sure if they ask him to play the 1 he will do his very best.

I'm sure a lot of people would agree with you, but they played point for point in their head to head matchup in the All A. (Neither one could guard the other) Both are solid players and I wouldn't mind having both on my team.

I don't see why either team wouldn't want to play this game. It would help out both teams no matter who won. It seems a few on here are quick to blame Johnson Central for them not playing but it seems the reason is still unclear. Plus, if there was only a 1 year deal what's the big issue?

At Paintsville it has to be Johnny LeMaster he was the #6 overall pick in the draft. Coach Howard was also a great player.

Paintsville has some great seasons over the years and finished runner up in 1989, and won the State Title in 1990. I think in 1978 they were 35-1 going into the sectionals.
