Paintsville (4-2) brings a good team into Ram Stadium this Friday to take on the Rams (6-0) .

Paintsville's 4-2 record is imo misleading. They have lost to Prestonsburg and Johnson Central...... two very good football teams.

Imo this one will be a real battle, what say you?

Paintsville has had an odd season. They have not been involved in a close game yet. Their two losses were by an average of 41 points. Their four wins were by an average of 42.5 points. As you stated, their losses were to very good teams. However, their wins appear to have been against cupcakes.

On the other hand, Raceland has had quality wins against Ashland, Fairview, and Lexington Christian...and has no losses! With that in mind, and the fact this is Raceland's homecoming game, I say Paintsville goes down to defeat by a considerable margin against the 3rd decent team they have played this season.

Raceland 48 Paintsville 12

This will be a good test for the Rams. P'ville has a good football tradition and there is a bit of rivalry here. After 2 weeks of big wins the Rams need to come out and play with intensity from the very first play. if they play up to their potential they should come away with a good win.

GO RAMS!!!!!

This game represents the meeting of two teams who appear to be going in opposite directions. Raceland continues to write chapter after chapter in this storybook season whereas Paintsville, though once formidable, is struggling to survive in the Johnson County arena.

The Rams have heard all season long about staying focused and playing hard. Those reminders can become diluted and stale over time and repetition…unless, you are dealing with a group of players which BELIEVE it without having to hear it. Although I am an outsider to this program, it is evident by the way Raceland continues winning in a business like fashion that makes ME a believer that this 2008 team will deliver a solid game against Paintsville and write yet another favorable chapter in this book covering a very special season.

Great matchup I think that Raceland has too much for the Tigers.

Raceland should win this one by 4-5 TD's. Paintsville has some great athletes that are big and fast, but this one will be decided on the lines. Paintsville's line play is very weak, and all accounts say Raceland has great line play. The teams that have beaten Paintsville, Prestonsburg and JC, dominated the Tigers up front with there size and strength. Paintsville plays an exciting style of football out of the spread up with a couple of breaks, could make it interesting, but I still see Raceland winning this one with rather ease.

I agree with Painter, the focus can be lost by repeatedly hearing that the Raceland players have to be focused. And, in my opinion, not playing focused in any game is the hall mark of a team's down fall. I think Raceland, in many ways are staying self-motivated. And, that is what it is going to take for continued success. You have to come out and play hard and motivated no matter who the opponent is.

I, also, agree with JC Alumni 76, the line play in this game, and almost every game, with decide a lot. Raceland's line has to take control of every game. The Raceland season will rise and fall with the Raceland OL/DL. Raceland can only go as far as the OL/DL will take them.

With all that said, I expect Paintsville to come into Raceland with the intention of derailing Raceland's perfect season. I look for Paintsville to play hard and kick, scratch, and claw to do everything they can to win this game.

Raceland just needs to keep staying focused each week on each opponet. Our coaches imo have been doing a great job of keeping them grounded.

Don't get too high or too low Rams....stay focused and keep your eye on the prize.:thumb:

In all honesty, it shouldn't be a battle, judging by the records of teams played & strength of schedule. Paintsville's wins have come against teams with a combined record of 8-16, & only one of those teams has a winning record (Allen Central), & their schedule (with the exception of Pikeville) is weak.

Their losses have come against teams with a combined record of 11-1 (Johnson Central & Prestonsburg) & that loss was to Beechwood. HOWEVER...you never take any team lightly, especially one with a winning record, regardless of who they have played.

If the Rams come out & take care of business & stay focused, then victory #7 shouldn't be a problem.

Raceland looked dominating last week against Paris. I dont see things changing much for this week....if the Rams come focused and ready to go they will name the score.

On a side note; I never thought I would see the wing t at Raceland....I shouldve known TJ couldnt stay away from it forever. lol.

Raceland. Just a guess because I don't know much about either team.

I know what you mean. We are a team without an offense, or with every offense, depending how you look at it.

The spread, Wing T, Power I, Wishbone, you may see it all when you play Raceland. That makes it very hard to prepare for a team, when you don't what offense you are going to see. I like it.

It's a good guess.:D What do you want to know? We can make you a Ram fan.

:thumb: You are absolutely right Ram. This Raceland team is experienced and can run multiple offense's and sets.

That however does not change the fact that they have to run them right to win ;).

Remember Rams....."the moment that you think that you are as good as you are going to get and cannot possibly be any better, well, then you probably are (as good as you will ever be) and that is when you will get beat."

Do not ever be satisfied, you can always play better.

Raceland is playing with a passion. This group of seniors never seem to play "cocky". They go out each week with a blue collar, pale lunch mentality. All year they have been told to play with a pit bull attitude and to take care of business, and to date, that is how the have played. Senior leadership and example have shown even on the practice field. I am not one to predict wins every week, especially when playing a team with the tradition of Paintsville. Can we win Friday night? Sure. But we better be ready to play hard and Take Care of Business (TCB). This has been my saying all year and now I am taking it to a new level. You'll see a lot of "TCB" posts from here on out.
