Raceland in a romp.

Smokin? Don't smoke, just giving my opinion, I am talking about this game ,not the previous games. What are you smoking?

 

Actually you ARE referring to the past. You stated that Raceland will start playing tight because they are undefeated. This requires retrospect. You are correct about one thing, with an extra week to prepare, Paintsville should come into this game very prepared. Raceland is very focused on this game. Their plan is to be 1-0 after this week. Yes, 1-0, they play each week as if they are 0-0 and 14 point underdogs. I do not look for them to play tight, they haven't all year. Could it happen, yes, but until it does, I don't look for it to happen.

This is a great chance for Paintsville to see where they stack up against the great 1A schools. One thing is for sure, the Tigers must play a great game on defense to even think about being in this one after half time. Paintsville's line must grow up if they want to compete at this level.

1.) Noone associated with the Ram football team worries about anything except the game they are preparing for that week. The only thing on the minds of the Rams is that they are 0-0 and they play a very good and very football tradition rich team in Paintsville this week that has had an extra week to prepare.

 

2.) Also, the point that our schedule is weak? Well, opinions are just that. We have played very good teams and played up outside our district to prepare for 1A powers and to go deep in the playoffs. Outside of NKY, I would argue our schedule is as tough as any 1A team in the state. Our district boasts 3 top 10 teams and we have beaten them, 1 top 5A school and we have beaten them and we still are to play the #3 team in 3A in a couple of weeks. Can anyone else say that? Ashland is the only team in the area that has as tough a regular season schedule.

 

3.) I look for an old fashioned knock down drag out football game.

1.) As for the bolded part.....Yes, we are 0-0 at this point and this Raceland team is not looking ahead at all. Should it get to the point that happens then that is the exact point that we will be beaten............."fear no one but Respect all". :thumb:

 

2.) Another good point, Raceland has Always tried to play as tough of a schedule as possible. There have been some years when bigger schools would not schedule for any number of reasons....no room, dates not matching up (understandable, all schools have that) and then there was flat out didn't want to.

 

3.) Yes, I expect a very tough game as well. There is a pride and tradition of past seasons and good, winning football from the days of Walter Brugh to the present in Paintsville. Paintsville's kids always play hard and with a passion/leave it on the field mentality. Raceland is going to have to match that intensity bc I can assure you that the Tigers will come in ready.

 

As a matter of fact and something else to think about Rams, I believe that the Tigers still hold the overall series adavantage between the two.

I guess saturday we will know the answer,and yes watched Ashland game,and Raceland could not come close to them right now. Anymore questions?

 

We have played them and we won! We don't play them until next year. You played and lost and you don't play them until next year. This doesn't matter about the rest of the season and has nothing to do with a discussion about playing Paintsville. It doesn't even have a logical reason to be discussed when coming to a decision regarding who wins this week.

Ok I am going with my Alma Mater---RACELAND. I went to see the Rams play at Greenup and was very impressed. This team plays with heart and I did not see cocky attitudes. I'm hoping that is because their coach wouldn't allow it. He is a very level headed person and always has been.

 

Now my son plays for another school as we no longer live in that area and I have to work on the 31st when my Rams play Russell. Can anyone text me with updates. I don't think there is anyway I can get a Greenup or Ashland station to come in in Maysville. Not even with a BIG antenna.

What are the head to head totals in this match up? Oldrambler brought it to our attention that Paintsville has the overall series lead. Do we have a Painter or Graybeard caliber statistician who can answer this one?

The most recent AP poll has Raceland #2 and Paintsville at #12. This will not be a cake walk, just because Raceland is undefeated and having a good season to date. Raceland needs to TCB!!!!!!!!!!!!
