LOL, I enjoy a good high school game,love the purity of it.The Russell game is just a lil far and have to go to Lex. for the UK game on saturday.Need to see how much trouble the Devil's are going to be in at the end of the month.Have been known to be distracted very easily by a pretty lady to. The field at Raceland drains very well since the addition of the "crumb rubber" so I don't think rain ( if it rains Friday) will be a factor.

It has been so dry the slow steady rain we are getting today should soak in quick.

I believe the forecast for Friday predicts zero rain.

Thanks, cvc. I was just making small talk and was suprised anyone reponded. I saw the forecast while on lunch and am glad we won't be standing out in the rain.

I don't think it will bother Raceland at all, the Rams are versatile and can hurt a team in a lot of different ways.

I hope Raceland is having their homecoming parade this evening because I heard what sounded like every fire truck and police car siren in the area from outside my house in Flatwoods this evening. At first, I thought there must have been a big emergency but then I remembered that it's Raceland's homecoming tomorrow so it must have been a parade...at least I hope so.

Yep, the homecoming parade was tonight. No need for alarm.

I feel like the Ram team is as prepared as they can be for this game. This is truly a special group of boys we have playing for us this year.

 

Several weeks ago, I was working in the High School on the day of the LCA game. The school had a pep rally that day, something we don't do often. When the team was introduced and they came in, I remember thinking that they weren't fired up at all. It made me nervous about the outcome of the game. Since then, I've come to realize that this team is just really good at staying on an even keel. It's like they aren't even worried about their own hype. Every Friday, the school is decked out in Orange and Black for the game, and the whole team wears their jerseys, but these guys just go about their day. Most of these guys are content to come into class, sit down and do their work along with everyone else. There is no cockiness, no arrogance about these boys. They are just ready to do what they have to do on the field. They have a great maturity about them. The coaches have done a great job in mentally preparing these kids for each Friday Night.

 

So, I don't think all the hype about being 6-0 will hurt, because I don't think these boys listen to their own hype.

Excellent post, Plaidman. I couldn't agree more with your assessment. Anywhere those boys are, they are complimented on their behavior. This is truly a special class and they have set a high standard for the underclassmen to achieve. I sure hope the underclassmen follow their example outside the locker room as well.
