I guess this puts to rest any argument that Ram (or even I) mistakenly made about Ashland being the best team in Johnson Central's district! :-) Johnson Central clearly comes to play when it counts the most. Congratulations to the Golden Eagles and good luck accomplishing the impossible next week.

Big J earns a date in The Fort. The Colonels have a lot to look forward to next year.

Congrats to Johnson Central!

expect for they dont have a quaterback next year.

Pretty sure Bir will be solid be end of year. He is going to be a good one. They have all their backs back plus Connelly as maybe best WR in NKY. Future bright in Park Hills.

Guess they're partying in Johnsonville tonight, and possibly having a brat or two.

Congrats CCH on a surprisingly solid season. When this group of seniors were freshman I remember telling someone they wouldn't win 2 games their Senior year. I think they were down like 50-0 at halftime of the HHS freshman game and might have won 2 games.

Senior class really turned it around and had a very solid year. Congrats to all. Good luck to the fellas moving on to basketball, and baseball.

Just got back home but before I head off to bed, I wanted to thank the wonderful folks at JC for the warm and friendly hospitality shown to us.

Proud Eagle, glad to see you again and thanks for the food from DQ and as usual it was great.

BTW the young ladies who sang "My old Kentucky Home" prior to the start of the game will be singing for the President in March. Ladies you were outstanding and I hope that the one young lady who hopes to attend NKU nest year, gets her wish!

JC fans good luck against HHS Friday night.

Been a long, long day......good night!

Congratulations to Johnson Central. Now the big test at HHS.

Congrats to Central. No squeaker here…this was a convincing win.

Best of luck to the Eagles next week.

I was very surprised to see that the newspaper gurus liked CCH in this game. I thought this was clearly an off year for CCH and JC beat CCH rather badly last year. Loyaty to NK and judgment are 2 different things.

Overall not the way the Cov Cath faithful would have liked this season to end, but given where this group was a few short years ago and where they ended up I would say overall a succesful season.

JC was bigger all the way around than Cov Cath, and showed suprising team speed given their size. Considering Cov Cath played this game without 3 starters on D and 1 on O, they hung pretty tough. If the obvious pass interference call on JC was called late in the game along the Cov Cath sideline this could have very well been a 3 point game with close to 5 minutes to play. Several 'no calls' in this game that if called make it alot more interesting.

Very impressed with JC running game and ball fakes, had me following the wrong RB on several plays!

I was thinking the same thing. I think perhaps the newspaper guys had looked at JC's overall record (they had only won one more game than CCH), and they knew about how demanding CCH's schedule was, and they went with CCH. Hidden in JC's record was the fact that they got off to a bad start but began playing much better mid-season.

Yes it was a very obvious pass interference but......

IMO the biggest play's of the game were:

The INT that the CovCath QB threw with just 1:37 left in the first half. The play prior to that he almost threw an INT to the same spot and then JC moves down the field to score a TD and then did the same thing when they received the ball after half time. IF CovCath scores or at least doesn't give up the ball, then this game is a lot closer at the end. That play was a huge mistake to make at that point in the game!

The on sides kick that the CovCath players allowed to travel an additional 5 yards down the field before they tried to corral it in. It looked like two of CovCath players were escorting the ball down the field after it crossed the required yard line instead of trying to jump on the ball. My guess is that they didn't realize it already had gone the required 10 yards.

Finally, to understand how tough a schedule CovCath played this season as they usually do each and every year, look below to read how many teams CovCath played in the regular season, that are still playing for the chance to win the state title.

Lexington Catholic, Newport Central Catholic, Ft. Mitchell Beechwood, Ft. Thomas Highlands, and Louisville St. Xavier. That is five of the ten regular season teams CovCath played, that are still playing for the right to play in Bowling Green in two weeks!

I just have to ask, did they play "Deliverence" over the PA as Cov. Cath. entered the stadium?
