This was #5 for Johnson Central, goes both ways at QB and DB. He was unable to make it off the field on his own power after laying motionless for several minutes. He did return to I am assuming he is OK.

# 5 J.K. Hall was fine ,never out. He plays just like Jim Brown, if you have knowledge of how he played. If you had watched JC play this year you would know that every single game Hall goes down and comes back two plays later better than ever. He wanted back in the next play but coach held him out for a few plays. Thanks for your concern however.

The origination of "Dueling Banjoes" over the PA was actually in 2006 for the first visit of CovCath. We figured the other city folk would appreciate it also. (We scrapped it for CovCath this year, they've already heard it.)

 

I remember "Dueling Banjoes" being played prior to the Cov. Cath. vs. J.C. playoff game in 2006. Everyone on both sides enjoyed the humor. One of the most vivid memories I have of the 2006 game was how gracious the Johnson Central fans were after their loss. I have to pull for the Birds to keep the 5A title in Northern KY but if Johnson Central were to pull out the win in Ft. Thomas, I would sure pull for them the rest of the way.

Wow!!! He sounds like an absolute stud.

The comparison to Jim Brown may have only been caught by the old guys.After almost every single play Brown acted like he may not make it back to the huddle then he would make a nice run on the next play.

It has not been mentioned, but CovCath had a lot on people missing on defense.

To stop JC, you need your LB to play big.

CovCath was starting 3 soph's, some who were did not see playing time untill St. X

Two of the defensive lineman were also missing.

The no Interference call took the wind out of CovCath sails.

CovCath QB plays about half the 4th quarter with an injuried throwing shoulder.

CovCath's inexperience on defense showed up big time on Friday.

Do not have a high opinion of the JC coach,sent a blank tape for CovCath to review, and from what I heard from the other teams in the district, this is not usual.

The other district team where more than willing help with game tapes.

Guess they're partying in Johnsonville tonight, and possibly having a brat or two.

Bringing the qb back in after he got knocked out(literally)

Running a trick play on a 2 pt conversion up 17 with 2 minutes left and CCH with no timeouts left.

Matney is a great coach, make no mistake about that. However, he has refused to trade tapes with more than one opponent. This isn't the first time and won't be the last.

I have heard it from more than one that blow this way out of proportion! On the two point play at the end, Matney on his radio show said that going for two made it 19 instead of 18. That made it 2 tds, 2 2pt conversions, and a fg. Just letting people know that it is just a shot that others have at Matney.

I have no problem with him not wanting to trade film with his opponents, but I would have an issue if he accepted and used a quality game film supplied directly his opponent and then either didn't exchange at all or provided a substandard game field.

I really do not understand the logic of Matney not wanting to trade film. Its not like his offense is a complex system. It would seem to hurt his team more than help. I team could watch a game film of JC from 2005-2008 and get a great look at what they will see in 2009. Not much has changed, belly right, belly left, a couple of broken bone sets with two back power sweeps, and a play action pass about twice a month.
