I agree with the post bout Rowan Co.. They are always solid and could suprise alot of people this year. Martin is a sound pitcher.

MY bold prediction for the Rams is a win over Russell in game nine of the regular season. By then, Raceland should be experienced and ready for a playoff run. I expect Carver and Denton to carry the load in this game and pace the Rams to a 22-20 win over the Devils!

The 2007 Rams have some big shoes to fill. I really dont think the Ram fans will realize how special the 2006 senior class was until the 2007 season starts. The team captains; Forrest, Grizzle, Thompson, and McKenzie, were all excellent leaders who will be missed greatly. Also the other 11 seniors are going to be very tough to replace. Beach, Mullins, Caldwell, Rogers, Deskins, Chambers... all of these players were impact players for the Rams. Which in result to such a good senior class in 06', most of the key players for the 2007 rams were on the sidelines last year. However, I look for Boyles to step in at QB and have a nice season. He is a intelligent player and has proven to be a very reliable athlete on the offensive side of the ball. Denton, Carver, Logan, and Chinn all played significant minutes last year and did an excellent job. So I really look for a talented junior class to carry the Rams in 07'. The senior class is small but has several solid players. Sanders and Large will lead this years senior class. Also, lets no forget about the loss of coach Gerad Parker to UK. I think he is going to be missed more than most people realize. I predict that the Rams will get off to a slow start. However, a very athletic and skilled junior class will lead them in a later part of the year and push them into the playoffs. Record 6-5 Key Players- Boyles, Carver, Denton, Logan, Large, and Chinn.

Defense will be the key to there success this year and for years to come, in 2006 the "D" controlled the game and was described in word... nasty!! they were all over the ball carriers everyplay. I beleive they will build on the success of the "D" in 2006 and continue that physical play. Although on the offense there are some holes to fill an some players will have to mature quickly, the rams will definetly be ready by game time .... Everyones very excited in Ram Land for years to some .

I heard it was David Bentley who broke his leg playing a pick up basketball game during gym class not Heineman, unless Heineman broke his leg also, which I hope did not happen. That would be a HUGE loss for the Musketeers.

I do not understand how Ashland received more votes than Raceland. The Rams beat Ashland twice last year; once in the regular season and once in the regional tournament. The T-cats lost their best pitcher in Williams and the Rams have their 3 top pitchers back from last year, two of which made the regional all-tournament team. I just dont see Ashland being a top 25 team this year.

Lady Royals by 7. Queen and Terry are going to have to play well but I really think Faulkner could be the X-factor. If she limits the turnovers and plays good D they way she is has been all season then The Hill will put up a "W".

Anyone heard if Greenup County and Russell are going?

The Rams had several kids absent yesterday due to a field trip and they also are expecting an incoming freshman class of about 15-20 kids. The numbers are looking good for the Rams in 07', I think thier biggest question will be leadership.

I heard from a pretty good source that the eagles were having trouble getting players out for this upcoming season. I hope this isnt true because Fairview looked to have some young talent last year and I was expecting them to have a descent season in 07'.

Congrats to the Lady Ramblers for the victory last night! They played a great team game. As I predicted, Seals stepped up big for the Rams and so did "The Twins". Keep up the good work girls so we can go after that regional championship! We all know you can do it! Also I would like to send my thoughts and prayers to Rachel, she is an amazing basketball player and an amazing person. Rachel is a hard nosed player and she WILL recover from this. She is blessed with a great family, so I'm sure Rachel will have a ton of support of her road to recovery. Best of luck Rach!

Raceland's Scott Grizzle who had over 2,000 yards passing, 40 combined TD's, and only 7 int. only received offers from only KCU, Mt. Union College, Georgetown College, and South West Baptist University. Scott was a top 10 Mr. Football candidate by the Catspause magazing and was all-state by the courial journel. I really think that his height (5'11 maybe 6'0) really hurt him and also the fact that he played at a single A school. I think college coaches base their decisions too much on height, weight, and school reputation. I think the intangibles are the most important thing; how much heart a kid has, is the kid a winner, and will he compete. Those things should be the major factors in selecting an athlete. However, Ammons, Petrino, and Grizzle are all 3 VERY good high school QB's and I'm really happy to see all of them playing at the next level.

I look for the Lady Rams to pull the upset thursday night in Vanceburg. Seals didnt play he best game Monday against Lewis Co., so I am expecting her to step up and play a great game. She is too good of a player to be held down two games in a row. Also, The Twins are going have to play solid on offense but more importantly get after those guards from Russell who can really shoot the 3 ball. However, The X-Factor in this game is definetly the inside match up between Okoro and Vanderhoof. The winner of that battle will put her team in the best position to win the game. LCA should be a very tough team this year. They have two VERY talented skill players in Witt and Hayden. I look for the eagles to have a great season. They may get off to slow start due to some young players but by the end of the season they will be a very solid team.

J.C. is going to have some trouble replacing Johnson and Tackett. Grimm is an excellent back and should carry them during the regular season but I dont look for them to make another deep run into the playoffs. Im going to predict a loss in the second round.

East team should win easily, they will be loaded with talent.

Sloppy game both ways. Pikeville had absolutely no offensive strategy in this game. The Rams just limited their mistakes and pulled out the ugly win. But hey a win is a win. Congrats Rams!
