  1. Actually I said his 40 yard time was a 4.4 or a 4.5, NOT his 60 yard time. :thumb: You would be referring to his 60 yard time. Which would probably be around a 6.6.
  2. Because Coach Vanderhoof coaches both baseball and football, there is really not time in the fall for the rams to work out. It seems to be working out ok for them though. Even though the Rams start conditioning way later than Boyd,Russell,Greenup,Fairview, and some other 16th region schools, they were still runner-up last year and are one of the top teams in 16th year in and year out.
  3. Great job..... you are right on target about the Rams!
  4. Raceland is starting conditioning here soon. I look for the Rams to be the #2 team in the region this year. They return their 3 top pitchers from last years team that one 25 games and beat Boyd once and then took them to extra innings in the regional championship. They also are going to be really good up the middle ths year with Martin and Morris playing at SS and 2nd.
  5. Thomas Tolliver from Raceland ended up being breaking the state record for stolen bases in a career last season and he ran his 40 in the 4.4 or 4.5 range. The kid could just flat out run!!! He is now playing ball at Transylvania University. But as firebird said, it is usually the 60 yd. time that is most important in baseball.
  6. Brad took a trip to Centre and really liked it. He is a 4.0 student and made a 27 on the ACT, so he should have no problem getting in there. But he is also talking about giving up football and going to UK or EKU to continue his education.
  7. LB J.T. Forrest- Top Schools; Thomas More, Campbellsville, Mount St. Joe (OH), KCU. J.T. has visited KCU, Mt. St. Joe, and Campbellsville. He has a visit scheduled Monday at Thomas More. I look for J.T. to end up at either KCU or Thomas More. However, he did like Campbellsville and Mt. St. Joe but from what he tells me, Thomas More is at the top of his list. QB Scott Grizzle- Top Schools; Mount Union College (OH), Southwest Baptist (Missouri), Thomas More, and KCU. Scott visited Mt. Union a few weeks ago and came away very impressed. They have a great football tradition, I think something like 8 national championship in the past 15 years. Also SW Baptist in Missouri just recently came into the picture when the QB coach from Troy took a Off. Coordinator job there. Scott is very close to Tony Franklin, so Tony got him hooked up with the Off. Coordinator at SW Baptist. They are D2 and it looks like they are going to offer Scott here soon. Also Thomas More and KCU are definetly in the mix b/c they are close to home and give him a chance to play early. DL Clint Thompson-Visited C-ville and KCU, but I think KCU is definetly where he will end up. He just told me last week that he was 99% sure he is going there. WR Derick Beach- Since Gerad Parker took the GA and WR coach job at UK, dont be suprised if Beach ends up as a preffered walk-on at Kentucky. Also I know that Kentucky State is very interested and Beach has been in contact with them alot lately. DB Benji Mullins- KCU, Thomas More, and Union are all interesed. Has visited Union and has a visit at Thomas More this weekend. I look for Benji to end up at either KCU or Thomas More.
  8. I look for the Lady Rams of Raceland to get overlooked by some but dont be suprised if they end up in the finals. They have a very solid starting 5. Seals is always the best athlete on the court, no matter who the rams are playing against. Also P.Porter can knock down the three ball at any time and Vanderhoof is a powerful force inside. Good luck Lady Rams!
  9. I believe Moore and Grizzle are the only two returning all-area pitchers from last year. I may be forgetting someone but I know those two were both all-area last season.
  10. I havent heard much from the area in the last few weeks. I didnt know if any of you all have heard any commitments lately .. especially around the Ashland, Boyd,Lawrance,Russell,Greenup, Raceland, Mason, and Johnson Central Areas .:ylsuper:
  11. Keep it going Girls !! Hopefully we will be making a trip to Richmond next week... Go Rams
  12. Shoulod be a Great Environment tonite in the Palace!! Bring back the Hardware Ramblers !!
  13. C'mon boys bring the hardware back to the PALACE!!! GO RAMS!!!
  14. Everyone who has some orange in there blood needs to come out and cheer theses girls on tonite.. Should be a great environment at the Palace with the Lady Rams and Rams in the Finals
  15. Benji Mullins, PG from Raceland is one of the most overlooked players in the region. He can get up and down the floor as quick as anybody and can flat out dish the basketball. Ask anybody who has seen him play this season and im sure they will agree that Mullins is extremely fun to watch and he can put together some passes that look like something off a streetball video. He also is a heck of a WR and can lay the hammer down coming from that free safety spot on the football field!!!
  16. Nice post... But how could we all forget to add Derrek Beach to the list. The kid was a flat out playmaker and arguebly the most gifted WR/PR in Raceland history. :ylsuper:
  17. Rams play tough D and pull out the victory in this one. I agree with Duck, the Royals are still a year away from having a very good team. Rams 61 Royals 57
  18. Randy Vanderhoof Scott Speaks Terry Howell Matt Bostick Mike Salmons Scott Grizzle Aaron Pettrey J.T. Forrest Travis Roark Nick Palmer Billy Schnitzker Just a few I can think of for the Rams. Im sure I left ALOT of deserving people out.
  19. I know there was another thread about it previously ... but i really enjoy reading these ... so think up a fantasy team that is made of your high schools best players throughout the years ....
  20. One of the best banquets in my opinion
  21. Could anyone thing of one for Raceland High .. i know of a few who would be on there Micheal Sammons, Scott Speaks, and of course Mr. Ohio State Aarron Pettrey ?? a few would have to on there from this past years team also
  22. West and Paintsville are both away
  23. Congrats to Raceland's QB Scott Grizzle and Linebacker J.T. Forrest for making HM! I knew once the coaches got some votes these two would have to be mentioned. Two great players who had excellent high school careers. Congrats to all who made the team!!!
