One word describes Ron Blume...SPEED. The guy can flat out run, he is one of the fastest kids I have ever seen step on a high school football field. He also has good vision and cutting ability, but his speed is above average.

I'd say J.T. and Clint will be playing on the defensive side of the ball for the Knights. Looks like KCU is starting to put together a nice looking recruiting class. Adding two all-state players in Grizzle and Forrest will hopefully open the door for more of the top area players to commit to KCU.

I agree 100%! Kasey might not be the biggest or the fastest but he is definetly just as athletic as any high school football player in the state! No doubt about it, when you watch Kasey play he is always the most athletic player on the field. Just because he might not run a 4.4 40 yd. dash dont mean anything. I think Kasey can play atleast at the D-1AA or D-2 level, if not at a small D-1 school. The kid is one of the best, if not the best Russell running back of all-time, and they have had some good ones! Good luck K-Clark, in your decision and do whats best for you!

Just got the word not to long ago, J.T. Forrest an all district,all area and all state linebacker who started for four years at Raceland has verbally commited to Kentucky Christian University. He joins his fellow teamates Scott Grizzle and Clint Thompson who both are going to KCU. Congrats to these fine young men!

Scott Grizzle, a three year starter and honorable mention all-state quarterback from Raceland High School has made a verbal commitment to play football at Kentucky Christian University. Just received the news a few minutes ago after talking to him on the phone. He should sign a letter of intent sometime next week. Congratulations to a great football player and a great student!!!:thumb:

Way to go Lady Ramblers! Nice to see them get a solid win and put up some points, hopefully this will build some confidence for these girls. If this team plays the way they are capable of playing then they can be very tough to beat.

The list of players for this first recruiting class will just continue to grow over the next month or two. Also look for KCU to run a shotgun 4 WR spread and throw the ball ALOT!

Morris and Phillips are very good pitchers as well. The Rams are going to have a tough pitching staff this season. All three of these kids have been playing together since they were 6 years old and they have always been hard to beat. Phillips is the power pitcher out of the group, while Morris is the guy with all the junk and Grizzle is a lefty with good control and a nasty forkball. The Rams also have two more nice looking pitchers, sophomore lefty Josh Wilson and a hard throwing freshman in Shawn Reynolds. Shawn is the younger brother of Nathan Reynolds who pitched for the Rams last year in the regional title against Boyd and did a heck of a job. So the RHS pitching staff should be pretty deep this year. Not as deep as B.C.'s but probably the second deepest in the region.

Congrats to Drew on an outstanding high school career and we all know that he will do great things at G'town!!!

Talked to Grizzle and Forrest a couple days ago. Grizzle told me he has narrowed it down to 3 schools; Mount Union, KCU, and Thomas More. Forrest says its between KCU and Thomas More. But dont be suprised if Grizzle passes up the football offers to go play baseball somewhere, he is a dandy of a pitcher. I would like to see JT Forrest and Josh Wills both go to KCU, those two would be good ones to build a defense around.

Everyone knows Kasey is an outstanding player and a great high school RB, but the bottom line is, that if you go to any big city there are " Kasey Clark" caliber running backs everywhere. He is not exceptionally fast nor does he have the quickness to play D1 running back. However, I do think that Kasey has the ability to play defense at the D1 level. With his athletic ability and size he would make an excellent strong safety or free safety at a mid-major college (Marshall,Cincy,Memphis,Ohio U., ect.). If Kasey wants to run the ball in college his best bet is to go small where he can be a star but lets get real people, he is not in the same category as an Arliss Beach or a Chris Jennings and Arliss had a average career at best at UK and Jennings had to walk-on at Arizona. Im not taking anything away from the kid but you people who are saying he is a D1 running back must not realize how good a division one RB really is. So my advice to Kasey is to do whatever makes you happy, if you want to run the ball in college then go somewhere that gives you the oppurtunity to run the ball. If you want to play D1 then I would concentrate on defense and not worry about playing RB. Like I said earlier, Kasey Clark is an outstanding football player and I hope he has a great college career, and there is nothing wrong with playing defense instead of offense. If thats what the best fit for him is than thats what he needs to do.

I wasnt taking anything away from Kasey, he is an excellent football player and could very well be the best running back that has ever put on a Russell uniform. But I just dont think he is a D1 RB. But thats just my opinion, and i wish the best for Kasey and hope he decides on a school that he has an oppurtunity to play at and a school that makes him happy.

The signing date is this coming wed., if he hast received an offer by now, it aint going to happen. Most D1 colleges have already had verbal commitments from the guys they want, if Kasey was going D1 he would have already made a verbal somewhere.

If KCU can land a few of these Raceland boys...especially Grizzle,Forrest, and Beach, that would be a big step for the program and for this 2007 recruiting class.

If KCU could get Grizzle and Forrest to commit, that would be HUGE for them!!!

The small town of Raceland is all geared up for this . Seems like everyone around the community is talking about and heading down to Richmond. Today at the high school they were suppose to have a big pep rally to send these girls off.I know im heading down there tommorow to cheer them on, So lets wish these young ladies good luck , and make us pound GO LADY RAMBLERS:ylsuper:

Actually I said his 40 yard time was a 4.4 or a 4.5, NOT his 60 yard time. :thumb: You would be referring to his 60 yard time. Which would probably be around a 6.6.
