Coach Banks let a 15 point lead slip away against Hazard. I don't know how good of a coach that this says he is.

If Breathitt wins it will be because they utilize the Smith kid. Hollan is a good shooting guard, but the Noble kid isn't the best point guard on the team. They have another freshman guard, a Fugate kid, that looks bigger and better.

This was a good game. The Noble kid played good, shot better than normal. I can't figure out why the other freshman point guard, I believe his name is Channing Fugate, doesn't get some time at point on varsity. He seems to be bigger and stronger than the Noble kid, and better at handling the press. Just can't figure out why they don't share some playing time or get to compete for it on the floor.

I think that Breathitt has the experience they were lacking last year. Breathitt by 10.

I agree they are playing a fairly weak schedule, but are an up and coming young team. I also saw the Fugate kid play in the Perry County Grade School tourney last year, and I have to say that this kid is the real deal.

I agree Watusi. Holcomb has maintained a powerful program in a relatively rural community for a long time. Building a program in a traditional basketball community is not an easy task and winning three state titles on top of that is enough said.

I will also give a vote to Beckham Herald from Breathitt Co.. He is an excellent running back and he may be one of the hardest hitters for his size in the mountains.

I will give Breathitt the edge in this one. The first game was a defensive struggle, but I think that Holcomb's offense will play better in this game. The Fugate kid is a fine quarterback and Beckham Herald is a workhorse. If these two kids step up like they are capable, I don't see Leslie containing them. Breathitt - 35 Leslie - 14

I think that Breathitt's improving young defense and the high powered potential of Breathitt's offense will be too much for the jackets. This will be the game to watch and I look forward to making the trek to Jackson. Breathitt - 35 Middlesboro- 28

Breathitt did not have their best game against Cawood, but I think that they may have been looking past them to Leslie. Breathitt has a high powered offense that IMO will be too much for Leslie to overcome. Breathitt - 28 Leslie - 14

Casey Allen from Breathitt Co. is a heck of a player. He is big and extremely strong, but that is not what makes him so good. He has a huge heart and is a vocal leader on that Bobcat team. He gets the team and the fans up for big plays. These intangibles are what make a great player.

I wold agree with this. Beckham Herald is maybe the most underrated player in the mountains. He does everything for the bobcats. He is the heart and soul of the team. The Fugate kid is also going to be something to see in the future.

I would have to agree with pallex32. The Ryan Allen and Rusty Herald have made some big catches for Breathitt this year. This team has surprised some people. Also, that Channing Fugate kid is going to be a name to watch the next few years. He is a special talent from what I have seen, as a freshman he plays some running back, some wide-out, punter, and place kicker. Watch out for these players the next couple of years.

I saw Harlan play against Breathitt and don't know much about Lynn Camp, but Harland is a pretty good looking team. I will go with Harland in this one.

I have seen Breathitt play a couple of times and they have looked pretty good. They are young and you can see them steadily improving. I look for them to head up to Louisa and ruin their homecoming. Breahitt 42 - 18

Breathitt Co. has a talented quarterback in Colby Fugate, impressive running back Beckham Herald, an up and coming Freshman half-back in Channing Fugate, one of the best O-linemen in the mountains Casey Allen. Harlan is a talented team this year, but Breathitt is going to be too much in this one. Breathitt - 42 Harlan - 21

I believe with a Breathitt win over Harlan this week, the top ten will change moving Breathitt up and knock Harlan out.

I have also seen this Fugate kid play in a couple of games and he is going to be a good one. This could be a name to watch for the next few years. Good to see the Bobcats back to their old-selves.

If Breathitt's defense can step up and make some stops, then Breathitt's talented offensive attack will be too much for western. It will be a challenge though, with Western's speed.
